Heaptalk, Jakarta — Huawei organized the Huawei Supplier Convention 2024 to strengthen Indonesia’s digital and green economies. Huawei facilitated more than 200 local partners through experience-sharing sessions and good practices to enhance digital ecosystems and support the Indonesian government in realizing the target of an 8% economic growth rate.
As is known, the Huawei Supplier Convention is a platform for collaboration with local partners. This event has been held regularly for over 12 years. Partners are provided insight into the latest trends in the ICT industry as a strategic guide for Huawei suppliers and technology-based tools. Supplier partners can improve efficiency and quality management with these insights and tools and create an environmentally friendly digital ecosystem.
Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Yassierli, lauded Huawei Indonesia’s extensive contributions to the nation, primarily through various programs, such as digital talent development, competency upscaling, small and medium enterprises empowerment, and setting an industry benchmark in occupational health and safety with a record zero-accident in 10 years in a row.
“We can learn from Huawei to adopt a productivity and work ethics culture to increase our competitiveness and improve the quality of our products and services through innovations, research, and development. I call on every enterprise to contribute to enhancing Indonesia’s future economy.”
As part of the digital ecosystem, the company perceives that local partners have a critical role in realizing Indonesia’s digital and green economy. Huawei will continue to share knowledge and empower partners to improve skills, optimize processes, enhance quality, and reduce resources and costs.
“We also support the government’s TKDN policy and work together to boost smart
manufacturing, upgrade industries, and create job opportunities in Indonesia. We have built multiple local production lines with four partners by focusing on wireless, digital power, access network, and mobile phones.” CEO of Huawei Indonesia, Long said.
This year, Huawei continues amplifying the digital landscape in the archipelago. The firm has cooperated with Telkomsel, a telco, to set up the first 5G City in Southern Bali and ensure continuous 5G network coverage. Together with partners, Huawei also established Indonesia’s first 5G Smart Warehouse and 5G Innovation Center.
Furthermore, Huawei supported IOH in building Southeast Asia’s Digital Intelligence Operations Center and Indonesia’s first AI experience center. In green energy development, Huawei also assisted PLN and Aruna in establishing the country’s largest ground-mounted solar farm.
