JAKARTA — For three days in early August, the exhibition halls at Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran will hum with smart appliances, robotic vacuums, and manufacturers pitching Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing electronics market. The Indonesia International Consumer Electronics & Smart Appliances Expo, known as IEAE, opens its eighth edition on August 5 and runs through August 7. Organizers say this year’s show will be the biggest yet.
Chaoyu Exhibition runs the event. The company has spent recent years turning IEAE into one of Indonesia’s largest B2B gatherings for electronics and home appliances.
This year’s edition shows that growth. Organizers expect nearly 350 manufacturers to fill roughly 500 booths across Halls A1, A2, and A3. Premium raw-space stands will take up about a quarter of the floor. That signals something: bigger, more established brands are pushing harder into the Indonesian market.
Attendees will have plenty to explore. More than 50,000 products will go on display over the three days. They range from everyday consumer electronics to smart appliances and other innovations manufacturers are betting on for the next few years.
Where the Products Are Coming From
Roughly nine out of every ten exhibitors are original equipment and design manufacturers. They come from China’s major electronics production hubs — Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Yiwu, and Ningbo. These cities have long anchored the global appliance and electronics supply chain.
One standout this year is the Zhanjiang Home Appliance Industrial Base Pavilion. It brings together more than 20 manufacturers focused on kitchen appliances and household products.
The show isn’t limited to overseas manufacturers, though. Indonesian companies will exhibit alongside their international counterparts. Organizers say this pairing opens doors for local firms to collaborate with global players. It should also sharpen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s own electronics industry worldwide.
AI and the Smart Home Take the Spotlight
Artificial intelligence ties this year’s exhibits together. It’s quietly working its way into everyday objects. Visitors can expect smart wearables, AI-enabled speakers, and customizable keyboards. The kitchen tech lineup keeps growing too: smart fans, rice cookers, coffee machines, juicers, and food processors, all built to run smarter.
Organizers argue these products help people live a bit healthier without much extra effort. That reflects a broader shift in consumer habits. Buyers care less about owning gadgets for their own sake. They want convenience and efficiency built into daily routines.
A Meeting Point for Buyers and Manufacturers
Indonesia remains one of Southeast Asia’s largest electronics markets. That scale draws manufacturers to Jakarta every year. IEAE gives them a direct line to the people who actually move products into the market: importers, distributors, retailers, e-commerce sellers, corporate buyers, and project buyers from across the archipelago.
For many exhibitors, those few days on the show floor spark new partnerships and supply deals.
IEAE 2026 arrives with a bigger footprint, a fuller lineup of exhibitors, and a product mix leaning heavily into AI and smart living. The show once again positions itself as a key business platform for Indonesia’s consumer electronics and smart appliance industry — and a bellwether for where the region’s demand is headed next.
