Tangerang Regency, 30 September 2026 – The 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 has attracted strong interest from international buyers and Indonesian business players. As of 29 September 2026, buyers from 113 countries have registered to attend TEI 2026. Meanwhile, as of 25 September 2026, a total of 1,533 Indonesian business players, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), have registered as exhibitors.
TEI 2026 will take place from 14 to 18 October 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten. Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, said that the Ministry of Trade is positioning TEI 2026 as a strategic platform to connect Indonesian products and businesses with global markets.
“The number of countries represented by registered buyers, along with the strong participation of local exhibitors, demonstrates the high interest of international and Indonesian business players in meeting through a business-to-business (B2B) platform. We hope TEI 2026 will further open opportunities for Indonesian businesses to enter global markets, explore new markets, and expand their business networks,” said Puntodewi following the 41st TEI Technical Meeting Press Conference at ICE BSD City, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Wednesday (30 September).
Puntodewi noted that the largest number of foreign buyers came from India, followed by China, Nigeria, Malaysia, and Egypt. The strong participation of these buyers is supported by the active role of Indonesian Embassies, Consulates General, and Indonesian trade representatives in expanding networks and identifying potential buyers from various countries.
Meanwhile, local exhibitors are distributed across five product zones. The Food, Beverage, and Agriculture Products Zone features 754 exhibitors; Fashion and Handicraft, 448 exhibitors; and Manufactured Products and Services, 183 exhibitors. The Furniture and Home Decor Zone features 85 exhibitors, while the Industrial Estate Zone features 63 exhibitors.
“The composition of exhibitors reflects the diversity of products and services that Indonesia has to offer international buyers. Through these product zones, we aim to make it easier for international buyers to identify products that meet their needs. This will enable more targeted business discussions between buyers and Indonesian exhibitors,” said Puntodewi.
Under the theme “The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing,” TEI 2026 will occupy an exhibition area of 16,656 square meters. TEI 2026 is targeting potential transactions of USD 17.5 billion, with approximately 1,500 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors. The event is also designed to create opportunities for investment and business partnerships.
Puntodewi explained that, to support the achievement of these targets, the Ministry of Trade has conducted a series of pre-event activities since March 2026. These activities include exhibitor recruitment and curation, buyer sourcing, the distribution of exhibitor profiles to Indonesian trade representatives overseas, business matching, and a CEO Gathering.
“As of 21 September 2026, 17 business pitching sessions and business matching preparations have been conducted, involving 17 Indonesian missions and trade representatives overseas. These activities consisted of 12 sessions in August 2026 and five sessions in September 2026,” said Puntodewi.
During the event, TEI 2026 will feature an exhibition of Indonesian export products, business counseling, business matching, business forums, the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs), trade agreements, investment commitments, and the Media Award.
TEI 2026 will also serve as an opportunity to strengthen economic relations with partner countries. The Ministry of Trade will facilitate visits by ministers from partner countries. In addition, invitation requests have been received from Zimbabwe, Russia, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, and Serbia.
TEI is not financed through the State Budget (APBN). Instead, its revenue comes from participation fees and sponsorships managed by the Professional Event Organizer (PEO). The PEO is also responsible for participant curation to ensure that participating business players have the readiness and capacity to enter international markets, including in terms of production, management, and export capabilities.
Also attending the press conference was Zelda Wulan Kartika, Senior Advisor for Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She highlighted the role of Indonesian representatives overseas, including Indonesian Embassies, Consulates General, Trade Attachés, and Indonesia Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs), in expanding trade networks while identifying and curating potential buyers. Buyers are then matched with Indonesian businesses based on their needs and potential areas for cooperation through various activities, including business matching, business forums, and site visits.
“We continue to bridge Indonesian businesses with international markets through the network of Indonesian representatives overseas. Our efforts range from providing information on market opportunities and promoting Indonesian products to connecting businesses with suitable buyers. This synergy is part of our efforts to expand market access and encourage more Indonesian products to enter global markets,” said Zelda.
President Director of PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti, Vibiadhi Swasti Pradana, also attended the press conference. For TEI 2026, PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti serves as the Professional Event Organizer (PEO). Vibiadhi added that TEI 2026 is supported through collaboration with more than 154 local and international media outlets. Collaborative promotional efforts have also been carried out with international trade events in Russia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Australia.
In addition, the PEO has prepared facilities to support the participation of potential buyers and facilitate transaction opportunities at TEI 2026. More than 200 rooms have been prepared for buyers who have undergone the business-matching process and demonstrated transaction or partnership potential with Indonesian businesses.
“These facilities are part of the organizer’s efforts to support the business process, from connecting buyers with Indonesian businesses to facilitating potential transactions during TEI 2026,” added Vibiadhi.
TEI 2026 is supported by Pertamina as a strategic partner, Bank Mandiri as the banking partner, and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP). TEI 2026 also receives support from several institutions and organizations, including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) and the Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI).
