Through digitalization, modern cooperatives in East Kutai can carry out diverse activities using electronic or online-based platforms, including transactions, accounting, and annual member meetings.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Head of the East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department, Darsafani expressed his intention to transform cooperatives through digitalization. This concern is aligned with the recommendations of the Ministry of Cooperatives to develop modern cooperatives.
Modern cooperatives can carry out diverse activities using electronic or online-based platforms, from transactions to accounting. Consequently, all human resources must be technologically literate.
“Later, advanced cooperatives with growing turnover and assets can try to implement digitization. For example, annual member meetings can be done through online platforms such as Zoom meetings,” Darsafani said while closing the accounting training for cooperatives in Muara Wahau District which took place at Teras Belad Café and Resto, Sangatta (07/09).
Further, the implementation of digitalization will be a separate assessment for cooperatives and can be registered with the Ministry of Cooperatives as a modern one. He voiced, “If they are registered at the Ministry as modern cooperatives, they will receive greater assistance. We will encourage cooperatives in East Kutai to become modern.” Meanwhile, cooperatives that do not immediately implement digitization will be left behind by cooperatives in other regions.
In addition, Darsafani advised all cooperatives to orderly hold annual member meetings and improve their business units. Managers who attend this training should also apply the knowledge of accounting they have acquired in their respective cooperatives.
“I ask that the knowledge, abilities, and skills of cooperative management, mainly financial administrators in accounting and preparation of cooperative financial reports that have been obtained in this training, can be applied in their respective places,” concluded Darsafani.
