In collaboration with the East Kalimantan Genpro, East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department assembled Cooperatives Day Festival with an MSME bazaar for ten days.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Government of East Kutai Regency through the Department of Cooperatives and SMEs celebrated National Cooperative Day (Harkopnas) by holding a Harkopnas Festival at the helipad field, Bukit Pelangi office area, Sangatta (07/07).

In collaboration with the East Kalimantan Global Entrepreneur Professional (Genpro), this event was assembled with the MSME bazaar at the 8th location for ten days on July 7-16, 2023. Bazaar participants consist of 50 MSMEs who have participated in several trainings organized by the Department such as HR capacity building and product development.

Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman inaugurated the event which was marked by cutting the tumpeng, an Indonesian cone-shaped rice dish. He delivered that there are still many MSMEs in East Kutai who carry out their business activities independently. Regarding this, he said that the government always opens space and encourages MSMEs that drive the people’s economy to improve the quality and quantity of products.

“One of these efforts is the Rp50 million disbursement program per neighborhood unit, which is partly allocated for human resource development through training. Currently, there are those who can set up their own MSMEs,” said Ardiansyah.

In addition, the MSME bazaar at the 8th point is participated by representatives of regional apparatus, local MSMEs, and representatives of business actors from several districts. Ardiansyah, “Whether it’s culinary or creative economy, they do have good products.”

Further, Ardiansyah hopes that the Cooperatives and SMEs Department and Genpro can see the potential that exists in MSME actors participating in the National Cooperative Day Festival 2023.

Providing training for cooperatives and MSMEs

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department said that his party would provide training for cooperatives and MSME players in 2023 which would be divided into 34 batches. Each batch involves 30 participants with a training schedule in stages until October 2023.

“At the end of the year, we will have a regional communication forum to evaluate all programs, both the 18-point MSMEs roadshow and the training activities that we are currently carrying out,” said Darsafani.

Besides the bazaar, the commemoration of National Cooperative Day was also enlivened by a variety of interesting activities, including band parades, traditional art performances, fun games, and talk shows. “On June 16 there will be a healthy walk which will be flooded with various interesting door prizes,” concluded Darsafani.
