Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department (Diskop UKM) provided entrepreneurship training for novice entrepreneurs from ten districts in East Kutai for three days on July 6-8, 2023 at the Royal Victoria Hotel, Sangatta.
This activity presented speakers from the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT). The Head of the Micro Business Sector at the East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department, Pasombaran, said that the output of this activity was to provide opportunities for the community, primarily novice MSME actors who develop their businesses in earnest.
Currently, MSMEs are one of the drivers of the economy at both the regional and national levels. However, according to Pasombaran, not many have completely met the standard requirements for products that can be marketed by the government.
“These standards include distribution permits, halal certification, Home Industry Food (PIRT), and Business Identification Numbers (NIB) for both individuals and non-individuals. This is what we will try to intervene and encourage them to fulfill it,” explained Pasombaran.
By meeting these product standards, MSMEs are expected not only to be able to produce and market their products but also to guarantee the safety of these products. “In the end, business actors, especially micro-enterprises, can upgrade to become small-scale businesses, with the hope that this will have an impact on increasing production and quality,” Pasombaran concluded.
