Heaptalk, Jakarta — The International F&B expo, Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) 2024 or SIAL Interfood 2024, is officially opened by Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri (11/13). Bringing together 1,200 exhibitors from 25 countries, South Asia’s largest event is claimed to be a crucial moment for Indonesia to amplify exports performance in F&B Industry.
“Indonesia has achieved a surplus trade balance for 53 consecutive months. From January to September 2024, resulting a trade surplus of USD 21.98 million. The F&B sector also demonstrated positive growth, which attained 6,8% for five consecutive years with the export value of USD 5.2 billion in 2023,” stated Roro at the opening ceremony of SIAL Interfood 2024 at JIEXpo Kemayoran, Jakarta (11/14).
Moreover, Roro conveyed that SIAL Interfood 2024 can facilitate Indonesian industry players and MSMEs to seize opportunity to expand the network and enhance competitiveness and becomes a global player.
Regarding the event implementation, Chief Executive Officer of Krista Exhibitions Daud Salim voiced, “Sial Interfood 2024 has achieved remarkable growth this year, expanding by 20% in both space and participant numbers compared to 2023. We are proud to announce that this year’s exhibition occupies a gross area of 39,500 square meters, including the Tent Hall hosting the La Cuisine Competition.”
He added that the event also managed to provide opportunities to 150 MSMEs from diverse provinces across Indonesia to showcase their innovation. Organized from 13 to 16 November, the expo which better known as the global food marketplace also plays a crucial role in supporting the national food security. This event also will provide opportunities for Indonesia industry players to strengthen their competitiveness in global market.
“In addition to bringing together producers, distributors, and consumers, SIAL Interfood 2024 also drives the formation of solid business network and collaboration. We believe the synergy between multiple stakeholders will bring great contribution to answering food security issues and the market demand which continues to grow,” explained Daud.
To make the event more attractive, SIAL Interfood 2024 will present exciting agendas such as competition and awards.
“The highly anticipated 6th La Cuisine Competition, featuring approximately 1,000 chefs from seven countries and judged by 90 experts,” said Krista Exhibitions’s CEO.
Beside La Cuisine Competition, the expo also features Coffee Art Battle, Coffee Roasting Competition, Cupping Competition, and Coffee Mixology events.
Daud added, “Additionally, we will feature Sial Innovation, where exhibitors’ innovative, creative, and health-focused food products are showcased. The Sial Innovation Awards, Sial Interfood Best Stand Award, Packindo Star Winners Award, and more will be presented tomorrow, November 14, at 6:00 PM in Hall D2”.
