The Xeon processor of Intel delivers various features for optimizing performance and CPU resources to achieve sustainable goals.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Intel Indonesia unveiled the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, with a code-named Sapphire Rapids for modern data centers, Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud, network and edge, and supercomputers.
The new 4th Gen Intel Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors deliver leading performance with the most built-in accelerators of any CPU in the world to tackle customers’ most crucial computing challenges across ai, analytics, networking, security, storage, and high-performance computing. This processor is also Intel’s sustainable data center processor, delivering a range of features for optimizing performance and CPU resources to achieve sustainable goals.
The Managing Director, Sales, Marketing and Communication Group of Intel Southeast Asia, South Asia, and ANZ, stated, ” We are excited to power Indonesia’s flourishing data center industry and solve the computing demands of enterprises here with the latest Xeon processors, from performance and efficiency to security and sustainability, as the country’s digital adoption and meets the growing demand for cloud services,”
Unlike any other data center processor on the market and already in customers’ hands today, this newest processor expands on Intel’s purpose-built, workload-first strategy and approach. When comparing with prior generations, the customers can expect a 2.9 times average performance per watt efficiency improvement for targeted workloads when operating built-in accelerators, up to 70-watt power savings per CPU in optimized power mode with minimal performance loss, and a 51% to 66% lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
The expansiveness of built-in accelerators in this processor generates platform-level power savings, lessening the need for additional discrete acceleration and helping users reach sustainability goals. Moreover, they can also notice sustainability benefits in the form of reduced server number, fleet power usage, and CO2 emissions.
As per recent results of head-to-head testing against the most comparable competitive processors on workloads that matter most to customers, including database, networking, and storage, the Xeon processor easily beats the competition by offering more incredible CPU performance, higher performance per watt, and lower overall TCO.
According to the company, the Xeon processors achieve up to tenfolds higher PyTorch real-time inference and training performance with built-in Intel Advanced Matrix Extension accelerators. With the delivery of Intel’s AI software suite, developers can use their AI tools of choice while increasing productivity and spending time on AI development. The suite is portable from the workstation, and it has been validated with over 400 machine learning and deep learning AI models across AI uses cases in every business segment.
The 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® processors are specifically optimized for high performance, low-latency network, and edge workloads. The processor is a crucial part of the foundation driving a more software-defined future for industries ranging from telecommunications and retail to manufacturing and smart cities. Xeon delivers up to twice the virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN) capacity without increasing power consumption. It enables communications service providers to double the performance-per-watt to meet their critical performance, scaling, and energy efficiency needs.
This processor adds new features, including increased memory bandwidth with DDR5, I/O bandwidth with PCIe5.0, and Compute Express Link (CXL) 1.1 interconnect. Regarding local availability, the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors are now also available to customers in Indonesia through local IT and cloud infrastructure providers.
