Heaptalk, Jakarta — An American tech firm, Oracle, reportedly make a significant stride in Japan’s technological landscape by investing more than $8 billion for over the next decade through Oracle Japan. According to the company’s official release, this enormous capital will be utilized to bolster the development of cloud computing and AI infrastructure in the country.
In more detail, this substantial investment will expand Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) ‘s reach across Japan and assist the company to enlarge its operations and support engineering teams with Japan-based personnel to help customers and partners in addressing the country’s digital sovereignty requirements.

In addition, Oracle plans to add local customer support for its public cloud regions in Tokyo and Osaka and its regional operations teams for Oracle Alloy and OCI Dedicated Region. This will enable governments and businesses across Japan to move their mission-critical workloads to the Oracle Cloud and embrace sovereign AI innovations.
Further, the company’s sovereign cloud and AI services can be delivered securely within a country’s borders or an organization’s premises with diverse operational controls. Oracle is the only hyperscaler capable of delivering AI and a full suite of 100+ cloud services locally and anywhere. OCI’s distributed cloud lineup supports several types of cloud, including dedicated, hybrid, public, and multicloud.
