Heaptalk, Jakarta — Lintasarta has unveiled its AI Merdeka initiative, a transformative program to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption in support of Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045.
The President, Director, and CEO of Lintasarta, Bayu Hanantasena, said, “Our mission is to empower the nation through technology, driving the growth of a digitally skilled workforce while ensuring Indonesia’s digital sovereignty. AI Merdeka embodies our goal to enhance national potential and advance technological progress,”
In more detail, an AI Merdeka initiative is a collaborative measure involving Indosat, Lintasarta, and ecosystem partners. It seeks to establish a sustainable AI ecosystem through two flagship programs, covering:
- Laskar AI is a scholarship program dedicated to cultivating machine learning and data science expertise. In partnership with edtech platform Dicoding, this initiative provides world-class training to produce competitive digital talent capable of delivering innovative AI solutions.
- Semesta AI is a platform that supports startups and Independent Software Vendors (IDVs) in developing AI-driven applications, spurring innovation across diverse industries.
“This initiative lays the groundwork for AI sovereignty and propels Indonesia toward becoming a globally competitive, digitally inclusive nation. By empowering academia, developers, and startups with GPU credits and advanced resources, we aim to catalyze the nation’s early adoption of AI while nurturing an ecosystem for sustainable innovation.”
The launch event brought together prominent figures, including Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, and Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar. Participants ranged from university students and faculty to industry leaders, startups, and government representatives, who engaged in discussions on advancing digital talent and achieving the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.
In addition to keynote sessions, the event showcased Laskar AI’s talent development framework and a hands-on Generative AI workshop led by ecosystem partners. Lintasarta reaffirmed its dedication to aligning technological progress with Indonesia’s broader economic and developmental goals, striving to cement the nation’s leadership in the global AI landscape.
