Heaptalk, Jakarta — Despite a challenging heavy-duty truck industry in 2024, UD Trucks reported to maintain its business performance by delivering over 1,800 units throughout the year. This great performance was delivered directly by the President of UD Trucks Indonesia, Toshi Odawara, during the media gathering at Penny Lane Menteng, Jakarta (12/10).
”Despite the heavy-duty market which decline by 20%, UD Trucks managed to channel over 1,800 units, which is higher than last year, due to continuous efforts from our partners, Astra International Sales Operation and United Tractors,” conveyed Toshi Odawara.
Winarto Martono, Chief Executive Officer of Astra International, stated that this achievement is driven by UD Trucks’ great quality. The excellent durability further enables entrepreneurs to use the units for 10 years and more.
“Customers who utilize Quester conveyed that the units can be used for 10 years or more. They may struggle for three to four years to pay the installments, but after that, they can really enjoy the result as this unit can be used for a long time,” said Winarto Martono.
Winarto also mentioned that the company never found any overheating machines or broken chassis. Moreover, he added, “This heavy-duty truck is also supported by great after-sales. It has numerous premium mechanics ready to serve customers in multiple areas, including remote locations.”
He also conveyed that the unit is supported by fast, safe, and responsive after-sales to provide a marvelous customer experience.
In addition to maintaining its impressive sales performance, Japan-based company also managed to achieve two remarkable milestones in 2024. In its 50th anniversary, UD Trucks Indonesia has launched Quester with Automatic Manual Transmission technology (AMT) Escott and brought Indonesian driver to win the UD Extra Miles global competition.
Toshi Odawara revealed, “This year’s achievement reflects our unwavering dedication to quality, innovation, and excellent service to improve the Indonesian logistics industry to be more efficient and successful. Winning the UD Extra Mile Challenge and Gemba Challenge show not only their (driver and mechanics) skills but also the spirit and resilience of the Indonesian truck community.”
