Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) has launched a campaign to promote its tourism destinations in Indonesia by collaborating with local artist Tahilalats (11/28). The campaign involves 310 cars adorned with campaign branding under the theme ‘Taiwan Waves of Wonder,’ which will traverse the Greater Jakarta area, along with ten buses traveling along one of the city’s main roads, Jalan Sudirman.
Tahilalats has developed three main themes for the campaign’s vehicle designs: Taiwanese cuisine, cultural festivals, and iconic destinations. These vibrant illustrations highlight key attractions such as Taipei 101, the Sun Moon Lake Gondola, oyster omelets, bubble tea, and elements of festivals like the Taiwan Lantern Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival.
According to Chou Shih Pi, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Jakarta, the 320 vehicles will operate for three months, targeting an audience of one million people who will see the campaign branding. The partnership between the Taiwan Tourism Administration and Tahilalats marks a new approach to tourism promotion. By capturing the essence of Taiwan through the perspective of artists who have directly visited Taiwan, the campaign is expected to bring Taiwan closer to the hearts of Indonesians.

Furthermore, Chou mentioned several exciting activities Indonesians can participate in to win prizes. The Lucky Taiwan Trip campaign allows visitors to win travel credits worth NT$5,000. Additionally, those who return starting October 1, 2024, will receive double entries for the lucky draw to increase their chances of winning.
“Moreover, free SIM cards and various attractive offers will be provided to make traveling to Taiwan even more enjoyable. We invite everyone to experience the joy and warmth of traveling in Taiwan, a perfect destination for families and friends,” Chou stated at the campaign launch at Chillax Sudirman, South Jakarta (11/28).
Taiwan recently ranked third among non-OIC destinations in the Global Muslim Travel Index 2024, reinforcing its commitment to meeting the needs of Muslim tourists and earning widespread praise from Indonesian visitors. Indonesia, with a diverse population of over 270 million, including more than 30 million of Chinese descent and the world’s largest Muslim community, is a key market for Taiwan.
Since establishing the Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Jakarta in early 2024, the bureau has launched various promotional activities to enhance Taiwan’s brand visibility. As a result, from January to August 2024, Taiwan welcomed over 150,000 visitors from Indonesia, recording a significant annual growth rate of 16.39%.
