Heaptalk, Jakarta — The food industry in Indonesia demonstrates positive growth, with frozen food becoming increasingly popular among consumers. PT Muliaboga Sukses Bersama, an Indonesian frozen food manufacturer, produces more than 10 tons of frozen food each month.
Tiffany Wibisaphira, the Director of R&D at Muliaboga Sukses Bersama, saw a significant increase in demand for frozen food. Perceiving the demand, the company is targeting a 30% increase in production by upgrading its production facilities. “In terms of competition, demand has risen significantly. Seeing this trend, we decided to move our production to a new, larger facility with more advanced technology. We are also continuously innovating in our production processes,” Tiffany said.
The Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers Association (Gapmmi) projects a 5% growth in the national food and beverage industry in 2024, surpassing the national economic growth rate of 4.95% recorded in the third quarter. This highlights the strategic role of the food and beverage sector in supporting Indonesia’s sustainable economic growth.
Halal-certified since 2010
According to Tiffany, the company is expanding to meet the rising demand. She explained, “With an investment of over Rp40 billion, the company is transforming. Originally very traditional, we have now adopted the latest technology, with 60% of production relying on machines and 40% on workers.”
Japanese food products are a flagship offering of Queen Food. The company has also expanded its range to include other products such as dim sum, chicken cordon bleu, chicken katsu, bitterballen, cheesy steak, and more frozen Western food. Queen Food’s products have been halal-certified since 2010 and are produced using internationally standardized machines.
Currently, Queen Food primarily serves B2B clients. The company also sells its products through online stores, agents, and distributors. Tiffany shared, “Recently, we’ve been working with the Horeca team. If they have specific needs, we can also offer customized products. Our products are especially popular in Japanese restaurants, as they are ideal for side dishes like ramen or bento.”
Located in Depok, West Java, the company produces frozen food under the Queen Food brand and partners with distributors across Medan, Bandung, Makassar, Kalimantan, Lampung, Surabaya, and the Greater Jakarta area. In the Greater Jakarta area alone, the retail distributor network has reached over 300 partners.
