Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and the Ministry of Public Works are collaborating to support food and energy self-sufficiency downstream efforts. Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir and Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo recently met to discuss infrastructure as a critical element in achieving this goal (11/15).
Erick emphasized that robust infrastructure can reduce logistics costs across various sectors, including ports, airports, toll roads, urban roads, and buildings. Both ministers also reviewed production zones such as economic or agricultural hubs to enhance their future potential.
“We have consolidated our efforts, and I thank the Minister of Public Works for mapping out the issues since we need to ensure that President Prabowo’s major program on downstream self-sufficiency is supported on the infrastructure side,” Erick stated during a joint press conference with Minister Dody Hanggodo at the northern lobby of the Ministry of SOEs office on Friday (11/15).
Minister Dody Hanggodo expressed his appreciation for the synergy between the Ministry of Public Works and SOEs in realizing restructuring and downstream programs aligned with the President’s directives. “As Minister Erick mentioned, we will have further coordination. We are the users and the SOE ministry as managers. We have had strong support from SOE companies as our backbone,” Dody explained.
Dody also apologized to Erick for scheduling their meeting late due to other responsibilities. He voiced, “I truly appreciate this meeting. I apologize, Pak Erick, for rescheduling several times due to other work commitments, but thankfully, we managed to meet today, and it went swiftly.”
Looking ahead, Erick hopes that the synergy between the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing can accelerate infrastructure development to achieve sustainable food and energy self-sufficiency downstream. This aligns with President Prabowo’s vision for Indonesia’s economic progress.
