Heaptalk, Jakarta — A global edge-as-a service provider, CDNetworks announced to expand its business in Indonesia, one of which is by adding more 10 Point of Presence (PoP) in the country. Building this infrastructure, CDNetworks reportedly will posses a total of 30 PoPs which are scatered across the archipelago.
Regional Sales Director of CDNetworks Indonesia Riyan Baharudin, during the CDNetworks press conference, stated, “This infrastructure development will reduce latency and providing efficiency by 20% to 30%, thus this measure will definitely increase customer experience. This is part of our commitment to provide excellent service to our customers.” (05/14)
According to Riyan, CDNetworks has built a strategic partnership with local internet service provider (ISP) such as Telin, XL, and Smartfren. This move is claimed to support the company in building the new infrastructure which was targetted to complete this year.
Head of Sales, SSEA, CDNetworks Yien Wu conveyed, “This investment and strategic partnership will empower multiple businesses and individual in Indonesia by providing a seamless, safe connectivity, thus it will expedite digital transformation in Indonesia.”
Prior to expanding its PoP number, CDNetworks reportedly has 20 PoPs which was spread in 6 cities, including Jakarta, Bekasi, Surabaya, Medan, Yogyakarta, and Jayapura. According to Riyan, the additional PoP is set to be constructed in the mentioned cities and other cities, but the detailed composition is unrevealed yet.
From the sales aspect, the additional PoP is expected to boost CDNetworks profit by 10% to 20%. He added, “The building of this infrastructure is a long-term investment. Moreover, we have to consider a lot of factors, such as the presidential election which will affect the national economy, so, previously (in sales number) we have to see the big landscape”.
