Heaptalk, Jakarta — The government has set the highest retail price of Minyakita at Rp15,700 per liter. However, in markets, this product is sold at Rp17,609, an increase of 0.26%. Minyakita is a packaged cooking oil brand owned by the Ministry of Trade.
According to the Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, the difference between the highest retail price circulating in the community and that set by the government is due to delayed supply distribution caused by the Christmas and New Year holidays of 2024/2025.
“The problem is due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, many distributors have not yet resumed operations. As a result, some have started, and some have not. Therefore, there is a supply delay, ” Budi said in a press release in Jakarta.
Budi assured us that the stock of Minyakita at the distributor’s end is still available, but the delay in distribution has made cooking oil more expensive. He mentioned that his party would coordinate with producers to ensure the latest stock.
“We strive to make the price affordable, following the highest retail price, and we will do whatever it takes to achieve that. Hopefully, on the 6th, we can check it on the SP2KP (Daily Price Data Collection and Reporting System). We will contact our friends in the regions, in the east, to check the field because one of the factors is indeed the holiday,” Budi concluded.
