Paser has made East Kutai a reference in solving several problems, including government issues as the Regency has a large area with diverse communities.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Regency Government received a working visit from the Paser Regency Government led by Regional Inspector Dharni Haryati in the Tempudau Room (07/04). The visit aims to discuss government issues in Paser Regency by learning from East Kutai as a reference.
Welcoming the Paser group, Regional Secretary of East Kutai Regency Rizali Hadi conveyed the Regency’s profile, including an area of 35,000 square kilometers and high community diversity in 18 districts.
Rizali voiced, “Our area is equivalent to Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. If you want to go around it takes a few days. Even to go to a location, we still use river transportation.”
Looking at the vast area, he admits that thus far the East Kutai Regency Government has not been able to completely meet the expectations of the people, primarily in terms of equitable development. “However, we will try to catch up with this lag by increasing cooperation with multiple parties, including with the surrounding regions,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Inspector of the Paser Regency Dharni Haryati expressed his admiration for East Kutai with its geographical conditions, especially the area which is three times larger than the Paser area. Dharni said, “We’d like to learn from the Government of East Kutai Regency regarding several issues since previously this Regency has been our reference.”
Further, Rizali handed over souvenirs to Dharni as a form of welcome. The visit was followed by a discussion about several issues that Paser wanted to learn from East Kutai.
