Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Pokémon Company and AKG Entertainment announced that the Pokémon Festival 2024 officially starts on December 5, 2024, and will run until January 5, 2025, at Central Park Mall, Neo Soho Mall, and Tribeca Park, West Jakarta. This festival, highlighting characters from the Japanese video game franchise, targets Indonesia, which has a large fanbase of Pokémon enthusiasts across generations.
According to Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer of the Asia Business Division at The Pokémon Company, Indonesia is an attractive market for the company due to its large population and positive business growth. Fukunaga revealed that they had long intended to organize many activities in the country, but it was only this time that they found the right partner, namely AKG Entertainment.
“We see Indonesia as a promising market for us to expand Pokémon content here. Additionally, we had intended to carry out various activities in Indonesia for a long time but had not yet found the right partner. This time, together with AKG Entertainment, we feel the partnership is suitable, and finally, we can collaborate to conduct even more activities in Indonesia,” Fukunaga said during the Pokémon Festival 2024 press conference at Central Park, West Jakarta (12/05).

Presenting Illumination Park and TCG exhibition
This event marks the second edition, following the success of the first festival in 2022. This year, the organizers introduced a new attraction, the Pokémon Illumination Park, located at Tribeca Park. Visitors can come in the evening to capture beautiful photos as the colorful lights are turned on. There are also Pokémon Photo Spots and Pokémon Photo Booths installed at Central Park Mall.

Although held at three different locations, visitors can easily enjoy the various activities and attractions offered since all the venues are within the same area. Numerous exciting events will enliven the 2024-2025 year-end holidays. One of which is the Pokémon Parade & Dance scheduled to take place every weekend at Laguna Atrium Central Park, Tribeca Park, Neo Soho Atrium, and Eco Skywalk. This will be followed by a Meet & Greet with Pokémon, where visitors can interact and take photos with their favorite characters.
“We want people to move around, not just stay inside the mall. This year, there’s the Pokémon Illumination Park at Tribeca Park, an attraction for all visitors, not just Pokémon lovers but also the wider community, to explore and take pictures,” stated Christina Lim, General Manager at AKG Entertainment, at Central Park Mall (12/05).
In addition, she mentioned that something special this year is the presence of a trading card game (TCG) exhibition area. The exhibition features Bahasa Indonesia version cards from 2015 to the present. The TCG exhibition showcases the evolution of the cards and highlights their unique features. There is also an art display featuring local artists who contributed illustrations for the TCG, exhibited at Neo Soho Mall.
