Heaptalk, Jakarta — Jenius, a life finance product under SMBC Indonesia, has unveiled several updates in conjunction with Bank BTPN’s renaming to Bank SMBC Indonesia. The updates include a fresh look for Jenius booths and the Jenius Main Debit Card (m-Card) design.
The latest booth concept is divided into three sections: SMBC’s Global and Indonesian Journey, which showcases SMBC’s history and presence; Jenius Journey, which highlights the Think Unthinkable philosophy and its integration with SMBC Indonesia’s branch network; and Unthinkable Day with Jenius, which provides an interactive experience for customers.
Meanwhile, the recent Jenius Visa Debit Card features a clean white design, symbolizing a fresh start and representing its journey nationally and internationally. This redesign aligns with the Think Unthinkable philosophy, encouraging innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.
This new concept reinforces Jenius as part of SMBC Indonesia, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), a renowned Japanese financial institution. SMBC ranks as the 13th largest financial institution globally, with assets totaling US$2 trillion in the 2023/2024 fiscal year (ending March 2024)—a figure nearly six times Indonesia’s GDP during the same period. SMBC operates in 38 countries with 151 branches, including in Indonesia.
Hosting a Japan travel fair
“Transforming Bank BTPN into SMBC Indonesia is a pivotal moment for Jenius to enhance our role as a life finance solution that integrates national values with an international network. This collaboration inspires Jenius to deliver innovations and services that are increasingly relevant and meaningful for the digital-savvy community,” said Irwan Tisnabudi, Head of Digital Banking at SMBC Indonesia.
Jenius has also introduced initiatives such as Funds with Benefits and a Japan Travel Fair as part of its transformation. Funds with Benefits is a savings program offering more significant benefits based on higher monthly average balances. Jenius Carter Pesawat—Japan Edition is a travel fair promoting Japan as a destination. The event, held in collaboration with Avia Tour, will take place at Ashta District 8, SPAC8, UG floor, South Jakarta, from December 6-8, 2024.
Users with an average balance of Rp100 million in November 2024 can enjoy a 50% discount on round-trip tickets to Japan or a price reduction of IDR 3.4 million. Special airfare deals are also available for Garuda Indonesia and All Nippon Airways (ANA) flights. “This transformation marks a new chapter for Jenius and SMBC Indonesia, further solidifying our shared commitment to delivering meaningful innovations for the Indonesian community,” Irwan concluded.
