Heaptalk, Jakarta — Mandiri Utama Finance Gaikindo Jakarta Autoweek (MUF GJAW) 2024, which was held from November 22 to December 1, is expected to be a great moment to enhance the performance of Indonesia’s automotive industry, which is currently experiencing turbulence.

“We intentionally organize MUF GJAW at the end of this year to drive the performance of the automotive industry for the domestic market,” stated the Chairman of the Indonesian Automotive Manufactures Association (GAIKINDO) Yohannes Nangoi during the press conference of MUF GJAW 2024 at Jakarta (11/07).

Yohannes explained that the end of the year is a golden moment for automotive distributors to deliver special discounts and promotions.  For this reason, GAIKINDO shift the period of the organizing of MUF GJAW deliberately, from Q1 to the end of the year. This initiative also is expected to boost the sales of domestic markets and will impact investors’ decision to disburse their capital in Indonesia’s automotive industry.

“This will be a positive point in convincing the investors to channel their investment to Indonesia, which later, will also impact the export value,” stated Yohannes.

The shift of the organizing period also attracts multiple automotive industry players to participate in MUF GJAW 2024. The Head III of GAIKINDO, who also sits as the Organizing Head of MUF GJAW 2024, Rizwan Alamsyah, recorded the significant enhancement of the event’s exhibitors.

“From the total of participants, we recorded significant enhancements, which reached 42%, from 19 to 27 car brands. Meanwhile, there are also 12 brands from the motorcycle (industry), and multiple brands from the supporting industry. The total exhibitors who confirmed to participate are 85 brands. This indicates a 32% enhancement. For this escalation, we decided to move MUF GJAW to ICE BSD Tangerang,” stated Rizwan Alamsyah.

Moreover, Rizwan also revealed two newcomers to this event, Zeekr and Aletra. Ford, the US brand that has been absent from this exhibition for a long time, will also participate in MUF GJAW 2024.
