Heaptalk, Jakarta — Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH), under its IM3 brand, holds the Grand Finale of the Collabonation Talent Hunt 2024, a premier nationwide search for emerging musical talent.
The competition, which has inspired thousands of Indonesian youths to showcase their creativity, reaches its climax today. The top 12 finalists perform at Pos Bloc in Jakarta. They vied for the ultimate prize: an exclusive recording session with acclaimed artist Hindia.
The Collabonation Talent Hunt is an extension of the Collabonation Tour, a traveling concert series launched in 2022 that brought music to various regions across Indonesia. This year’s competition, held from August to November 2024, saw over 5,000 participants audition both online and offline across 51 cities, spanning Aceh to Kupang and including regions such as Jabodetabek, Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Papua.
Most participants auditioned online, underscoring the critical role of digital connectivity in providing equal opportunities. IM3 supported this with its robust and reliable network, ensuring seamless internet access and leveraging its Freedom Internet package to empower participants to hone their musical skills from anywhere in the country.
Finalists representing Indonesia’s Diverse Regions
The 12 outstanding finalists, representing four regions of Indonesia, are as follows:
- Jabodetabek: Normative, The Peninsula, The Morbius
- Sumatra: The Venyamin, Daniel Saputra Lubis, Fitriliciouz
- Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara: Hompimpah, Sarfian Hidayat, Charey Ratu Kaho
- Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua: Manjakani, Vivienne Lee, Rezky Nuralyah Juniarti
These finalists will perform live before a distinguished panel of judges featuring Baskara Putra (Hindia), a renowned musician and producer; Kiki Aulia Ucup, a prominent concert promoter and music industry advocate; and Enrico Octaviano, a producer and drummer from the band Lomba Sihir. Their evaluations will determine the top three winners, who will receive:
- 1st Place: Rp20 million in cash, a 3-month IM3 Platinum Package, exclusive merchandise, and the chance to record with Hindia.
- 2nd Place: Rp15 million in cash, a 3-month IM3 Platinum Package, and exclusive merchandise.
- 3rd Place: Rp10 million in cash, a 3-month IM3 Platinum Package, and exclusive merchandise.
The Grand Finale Concert is a culmination of talent from all corners of Indonesia and will feature an exceptional performance by Hindia to close the event. Boosting Indonesia’s connectivity
Joko Riswadi, the SVP of Customer Experience Excellence at Indosat, introduced the Collabonation Talent Hunt as a platform for Indonesian music industry talents from Sumatra to Papua to showcase their creativity and channel their works onto the national stage. This initiative is bolstered by deploying approximately 52,000 BTS sites across Indonesia.
In a further statement, Joko elaborated that Indosat has successfully expanded its network coverage to reach an additional 7.5 million people while achieving a 41% increase in BTS infrastructure development over the past two years. The company is committed to extending coverage to over 2.6 million people for the upcoming year, focusing on Indonesia’s eastern regions.
“Our expansion efforts have reached the farthest corners of eastern Indonesia, including Ambon, Ternate, and Nias. These areas have been our primary focus this year. Furthermore, we remain dedicated to broadening our coverage in both urban and rural areas,” he remarked.
