Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024, organized by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries, has officially closed with highly positive achievements.
The Chairman lll and Chairman of the Gaikindo Exhibition Committee, Rizwan Alamsjah, said the enthusiasm of the expo’s visitors was fantastic, surpassing the highest number of visitors recorded in 2019. “From the first day of the exhibition’s opening until the last day, the enthusiasm of visitors never waned, and GIIAS 2024 broke the record with a total of 475,084 visitors throughout the event,” Rizwan added.
According to Rizwan, another attractive factor that drew another attractive factor that drew visitors was the presence of the test drive program with a complete selection of vehicles and the featured New and Improved Water Obstacle and Articulation Obstacle areas, specially designed to test the durability and performance of vehicles, including electric motor vehicles.
GIIAS 2024 also presented the largest test drive area compared to previous events. It accommodated more than 150 test-drive vehicles and over 25 test-ride vehicles that visitors could try on a 2-kilometer track. The results were fantastic, with over 18,000 car trips and 6,000 motorcycle trips recorded throughout GIIAS 2024.
The positive achievements at GIIAS 2024 also included significant reports from participants during the exhibition. Although transactions were not the target set by GAIKINDO for GIIAS, this year’s extraordinary achievements will significantly contribute to the automotive industry’s performance in Indonesia this year. “GIIAS is GAIKINDO’s effort to showcase the development of Indonesia’s automotive industry while also driving its growth. After hearing the reports from participants, we are confident that GIIAS has once again fulfilled its role very well,” Rizwan concluded.
