Heaptalk, Jakarta — Global Expo Management (GEM Indonesia) organized Southeast Asia’s largest international rail and maritime transportation technology and innovation exhibition, RailwayTech Indonesia and Inamarine on October 19—21, 2022 at JIExpo Kemayoran, North Jakarta. The exhibition is a collaboration of GEM Indonesia with the Indonesian Railways Society (Maska) and the Indonesian Shipbuilding and Offshore Association (Iperindo).
Taking place at the Hal D2 JIExpo, the RailwayTech Indonesia 2022 presents 116 exhibitors across the countries, spanning Australia, Austria, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the People’s Republic of China, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the Netherlands, the Philippines, United Kingdom, and the United States.
The Ambassador of Poland to Indonesia Beata Stoczyńska also attended the opening ceremony expressing her support for the exhibition (10/19). About 12 Poland companies participated in the RailwayTech Indonesia 2022, including Ambient System, Elvys Polska, and the Polish Chamber of Railway. “Poland brings the most exhibitors this year,” said Chairman of Indonesia Railway Society (Maska) Hermanto Dwiatmoko.
At the opening ceremony, President Director of GEM Indonesia Baki Lee delivered that Indonesia’s post-pandemic economy shows positive progress with a GDP growth of 5.2% in Q3 and 5.4% in Q2 2022. With the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia becomes the most aggressive in the development of rail transportation currently. Several mega rail projects are in progress, spanning MRT Jakarta phases 1 and 2, Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train (KCJB), Jakarta LRT, Jabodebek LRT, and Celebes Sulawesi Railway.
The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, Jabodebek LRT, and MRT Jakarta have the potential to encourage new economic growth in Indonesia, particularly in the West Java and DKI Jakarta areas as well as the surrounding areas. The development will also contribute to increasing regional economic growth. Meanwhile, other projects are still under study and planning, including MRT phase 3, Jakarta-Surabaya Fast Train, and LRT in several big cities in Indonesia, spanning Bandung, Medan, Makassar, Bali, and Surabaya.
Inamarine 2022
In addition to rail land transportation as showcased at RailwayTech, to make Indonesia the world’s maritime axis, the Indonesian government is strongly committed to developing the shipping industry which certainly delivers benefits for actors and workers in the industrial sector. President Joko Widodo is targeting to optimize sea transportation, requiring SOEs and other agencies in the maritime sector to buy ships from domestic shipyards.
According to the Chairman of the Indonesian Shipbuilding and Offshore Association (Iperindo) Anita Puji Utami, Inamarine 2022 aims to be the medium to promote products from the shipping industry, ship equipment, and machinery industry, as well as other supporting industries.
“With this event, industry actors can provide information to users of goods and services, including technological advances they have mastered,” said Puji. Further, she delivered that Iperindo members have adequate ability in building all types of new ships and repairing various types of ships. However, several industrial structures or shipyards are not strong yet since they depend on imports of raw materials and components, resulting in a low level of competitiveness.
Through Inamarine 2022 which takes place at Hall D1 JIExpo, Puji expected all stakeholders can exchange knowledge and experience as well as collaborate to develop a better shipbuilding industry in Indonesia. She voiced, “We hope that we can work together to carry out growth in the infrastructure sector, especially in the maritime sector in Indonesia.”
In conjunction with RailwayTech and Inamarine, GEM Indonesia also held Inagritech 2022 showcasing technology and modern agricultural innovation, food technology, and chemistry at Hall A JIExpo. Inapalm Asia 2022 is also presented to provide the needs of palm oil productivity technology in industry 4.0
At the same time and location, Inagrichem 2022 is organized as well to fulfill the fertilizer needs in the era of smart farming 4.0. Collaborating with Indonesia Sugar Association (AGI) and Indonesia Sugar Research Institute (P3GI), GEM Indonesia held Sugar Mach Indonesia 2022 to increase sugar productivity in Indonesia in the industry era 4.0.
