Heaptalk, Jakarta — Six of Indonesia’s State-Owned companies, including Indonesia Financial Group (IFG), Indonesia Re, BULOG, Asabri, Dana Reksa, and MIND.ID, in collaboration with the Central Information Commission (KIP), conducted the Public Information Openness Education Forum on Tuesday (04/23). The forum aims to build a culture of transparency and openness of information within the SOE ecosystem, as encouraged by the Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir.
“IFG appreciates the implementation of socialization at this information disclosure educational forum. We hope that IFG and other BUMN can encourage the availability of appropriate, well-managed information and documentation systems accessible to the public.” President Director of IFG, Hexana Tri Sasongko, said.
Based on Law No. 14, 2008, implementing public information disclosure strengthens good corporate governance practices and increases public trust. Information disclosure also plays a significant role in sustainable and inclusive development. For this reason, the entire party is expected to be involved in consistently implementing public information disclosure.
By providing easy access to information for the public, implementing public information disclosure can also ensure business continuity for state-owned companies, especially in the insurance and pension fund clusters. For this reason, this activity is expected to become a place for optimizing good corporate governance (GCG) practices.
The President Director of Indonesia Re, Benny Waworuntu, said, “The educational forum activity aims to increase the commitment and awareness of employees within the Re Group and also stakeholders regarding the importance of information disclosure to create more transparent, responsive, and accountable company management,”
In maximizing public information openness, Indonesia’s SOEs continue to hold multiple innovations in preparing facilities and infrastructure to implement information transparency, including disability-friendly information disclosure access.
As one of the SOE entities, Indonesia Re also continues to optimize the function of the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) to provide excellent service to society by developing Mobile Apps of PPID, which is expected to consistently update the needed information to the public through the company’s ePPID platform.
During the agenda, several representatives from government entities attended this forum, including the Assistant Deputy for Insurance Services and Pension Funds at the Ministry of SOE, Hendrika Nora Osloi, and the Deputy Chair of Commission XI DPR, Fathan. Apart from presenting insights regarding public information disclosure, these entities also signed a MoU to synergize with each other in providing information transparently.
