Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (Inacraft) will be back on October 26- 30, 2022 at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). In the second wave of Inacraft, the Association of Exporters and Producers of Indonesian Handicraft (ASEPHI) announced to provide an opportunity to young-preneur to showcase their innovative, creative products.
By performing this measure, ASEPHI aims to regenerate handicraft industry and provide more space for entrepreneurs that get no space in the previous Inacraft. The Director of PT Mediatama Binakreasi, the event’s promotor, Umi Noor Wijiati mentioned that 90% of the participants, or around 340 exhibitors are ASEPHI’s members, while around 30 exhibitors are SMEs guided by the Ministries and Stated Own Enterprises. Followed by 370 exhibitors, the participation of young-preneurs in the largest handicraft expo in Southeast Asia is estimated to attain 20% of the total participants.
“In the selection process, youth-preneur is the participant aged under 40 years old. On the side of products, exhibitors that are categorized as youth-preneur should showcase new, unique things, such as new raw materials, new product display, new ways to promote their products, etc.” said Vice Chairman III of ASEPHI in the field of Public Relations and Inter-Institutional Relations, Baby Jurmawati Djuri during Inacraft press conference and luncheon at Kembang Goela, Jakarta (10/11).
Expanding its market to the young generation, Baby also stated that the event would present new activities, including a makeup challenge, Trunk Show, and Traditional Dance Competition, such as Saman Dance battle. This activity is expected to attract more Millenials and gen Z to join the expo.
The second wave of Inacraft will adopt a hybrid concept by employing #Thelocalpreneursmarketstation as its tagline. For its online scheme, ASEPHI has collaborated with a multinational company, Silversea Media, to present an immersive virtual exhibition.
ASEPHI Vice Chairman II in the field of Creative Industries, IT, and Promotion, Muchamad Ali Jufri stated, “In this October, we will present INACRAFT 2.0 with a virtual transformation that adopts AI technology and immersive digital view.”
The organizing of INACRAFT this October is expected to attract 50,000 visitors. The event is estimated will generate retail transactions of Rp65 billion with a trading contact of Rp1 billion. Umi delivered that the amount of trading contact potentially exceeds the estimation as the former INACRAFT has successfully achieved Rp780 million.
In its implementation, ASEPHI announced that the ticket is free, but keep applying Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment (CHSE) protocol. The Chairman of the Association of Exporters and Producers of Indonesian Handicraft (ASEPHI), Muchsin Ridjan, delivered his optimism to the event during the INACRAFT 2.0 press conference (10/11), “Considering the conducive condition in the post-pandemic and the strategy applied, We hope this event will successfully assist Small Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) to revive.”
