Heaptalk, Jakarta — Nvidia organized a workshop to introduce generative AI apps to 1,200 students and lecturers in Medan, North Sumatra (07/08). Through this event, the tech firm aims to contribute to developing top talents who will reinforce digital transformation in Indonesia.

Titled World’s AI and Yours, this activity is a collaboration between the company and three universities in Medan: Prima Indonesia University (Unpri), IT&B Business Institute, and Pelita Harapan University (UPH) Medan. The workshop also featured a talk show and demonstrations of AI-based technology and applications within the Nvidia RTX ecosystem.

According to Adrian Lesmono, Nvidia’s Country Consumer Business Lead in Indonesia, the utilization of AI is growing worldwide, including in the country. This is continuously balanced with technological innovations in computing and software. The widespread use of AI will significantly impact every element of human life and business, not only the gaming and creative industries.

AI has been adopted globally

“The utilization of AI is expanding globally, including in Indonesia, accompanied by technological innovations in computing and software. Adequate knowledge of artificial intelligence needs to be possessed by students and educators in higher education to support productivity in the digital era,” Adrian explained in his written statement.

Dr. Said Rizal, Vice Rector III of Universitas Prima Indonesia, appreciated the collaboration between Nvidia, an industry player, and higher education institutions in Medan, North Sumatra to introduce generative AI apps to students. This step embodies the collaboration scheme between higher education and the business and industrial world to produce digital talents with industrial qualifications.

Said stated, “The collaboration between the business world and industry promoted by the Ministry of Education has been realized through the cooperation between Nvidia, a global industry player, and Unpri. To help the academic community, students, and lecturers, collaboration with industry players is needed to keep up with technological innovations in the education sector. Thus, we can update ourselves and utilize the sophistication of these technologies.”

Meanwhile, Anjas Maradita, Content Creator and Corporate AI Consultant stated, “I use AI for my daily work as a content creator. AI helps me complete routine tasks that previously required long processes and time.” AI can also help content creators optimize the appearance of content, both in terms of visual sharpness during video conferences through Nvidia Broadcast and eliminating audio noise through the Nvidia RTX Voice application. AI supports all these applications. ChatRTX can also be used offline on PCs and laptops for data processing.
