Xiaomi 15 Series arrives in Indonesia, bringing Leica lenses and AI capabilities

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Xiaomi 15 Series, comprising the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra models, has officially launched in Indonesia. This flagship smartphone series features Leica Summilux lenses to deliver a professional photography experience and a range of AI capabilities to support diverse activities.

Wentao Zhao, Country Director at Xiaomi Indonesia, conveyed that this series is designed to accompany users through their daily lives, enabling them to capture moments while handling their everyday needs. “Xiaomi 15 offers a true flagship experience, one of the best devices in the world. It boasts a compact design that looks great and feels amazing. It’s incredibly light at just 191 grams, and the smooth-edged steel of the Xiaomi 15 gives it an incredible in-hand feel,” said Zhao at the Xiaomi 15 Series launch at Gandaria City Mall in South Jakarta on (03/13).

This device embodies the concept of an all-round flagship, aiming to be a premium Leica compact smartphone. Its frame is made of 33% more durable micro-curved aluminum, with an ultra-thin bezel of 1.38mm, resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of 94%. It comes in three colors: black, white, and green. Xiaomi 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, supporting various activities such as multitasking, editing, and entertainment. It has a 5240mAh battery, 90W HyperCharge, 50W wireless charging, and the Xiaomi Surge Battery Management System.

The Xiaomi 15 features a triple-camera system, with the primary camera equipped with a Leica Summilux (f/1.62) optical lens, a 7P aspherical high-transmittance design, anti-glare coating, and a large f/1.62 aperture. The high dynamic Light Fusion 900 sensor provides a professional photography experience with three primary focal lengths: 23mm, 28mm, and 35mm. It also includes a 50MP Leica 60mm floating telephoto camera and a 50MP Leica 14mm ultra-wide camera, with improved fast-shot capabilities that allow capturing images in just 0.6 seconds from standby mode. Users can also record Dolby Vision videos in 4K at 60fps.

Zhao continued, “The whole device is incredibly beautiful yet lightweight. The Xiaomi 15’s colors are subtle yet bold, with a stunning gradient of sophisticated white and classic black. Xiaomi 15 also offers the pinnacle of a compact display experience, featuring ultra-thick bezels and 3200-nit brightness, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and native durability with Xiaomi sealed glass.”

The Xiaomi 15 will be officially available in Indonesia starting March 15, 2025, through offline sales at Xiaomi Stores and authorized Xiaomi partner stores (including Erafone, Blibli Store, Digiplus, Okeshop, Fonel) and online via Mi.com and Xiaomi Official Stores on various e-commerce platforms. this device is available in 12GB/256GB at a price of Rp11,999,000 and 12GB/512GB at a price of Rp12,999,000. During the first sales period from March 15 to March 31, 2025, each purchase of this latest release will come with an exclusive bonus: a Xiaomi 50W Wireless Charging Stand Pro (worth Rp799,000).

This smartphone is touted as the pinnacle of photography, thanks to its optical design, main camera, and telephoto lens. The 1-inch primary camera sensor can capture more light, and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is claimed to produce professional-grade photos with minimal editing. “Xiaomi 15 Ultra is an innovation in photographic technology. We present the photography of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. There is color calibration, auto white balance, and color correction for the first time in a Xiaomi flagship. The result is more precise and accurate pictures,” said Andi Renreng, Marketing Director at Xiaomi Indonesia.

The telephoto camera boasts a 200MP resolution with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. Adopting the trinity lens concept, this device has three essential focal lengths for mobile photography. These include the Leica 14mm ultra-wide lens (f/2.2), a 23mm (46mm equivalent with 2x zoom) primary camera, a 70mm floating telephoto lens, and a 100mm periscope camera, providing excellent photography flexibility. Professional features include 4K front camera recording, 8K video recording, and Dolby Vision support across all focal lengths. The primary camera can record in 4K at 120fps, and this capability extends to the 100mm telephoto camera, enabling slow-motion video recording from a distance without losing detail.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform is expected to boost CPU performance by 45% and GPU performance by 44% while maintaining energy efficiency. The battery has a capacity of 5410mAh, with 90W HyperCharge, 80W wireless charging, and the Xiaomi Surge Battery Management System. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is available in 16GB/512GB variants in black and white at a price of Rp16,9099,000 and a 16GB/1024GB variant in silver chrome at a price of Rp19,999,000.

Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be available from March 13 to March 27, 2025, offline at Xiaomi Stores and Erafone, and online exclusively at Mi.com, Blibli, and Shopee. Each online or offline pre-order will receive a special bonus: the Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Kit Legend Edition (worth IDR 1,999,000). All Xiaomi 15 Series purchases are eligible for a special offer from XL, providing eSIM data up to 60GB for one year.
