Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) inks a partnership with Microsoft Indonesia to reinforce digital transformation in the government sector.
The partnership includes developing human resources in the digital sector, strengthening government infrastructure and digitalization, responsible management of artificial intelligence, personal data protection, and other areas.
Responding to the partnership, Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi emphasized the significance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in accomplishing national digital transformation. According to him, this public-private partnership model will enable the collaboration of expertise, resources, and the latest technological innovations in implementing policies in the digital sector. Additionally, industry players will also gain the opportunity to open new businesses, increase market access, and expand the range of services.
Encouraging knowledge and technology transfer
“The Indonesian government admits that multi-stakeholder collaboration is undoubtedly necessary, including through cooperation between the government and the private sector. As Minister of Communication and Informatics, I sincerely ask global technology companies including Microsoft to continually encourage knowledge transfer as well as technology transfer in various collaborations carried out, ” Budi said at the signing of the MoU between Kominfo and Microsoft Indonesia in Central Jakarta (03/14).
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Microsoft Indonesia Dharma Simorangkir expected that this partnership between the two parties could spur innovations that will have a real impact on society. Dharma voiced, “We hope that our steps today in signing the memorandum of understanding can trigger innovations.”
Dharma also appreciated the Ministry of Communication and Informatics for its collaboration in empowering Indonesia’s digital economy, particularly in creating an emerging economy based on data and artificial intelligence.
