Heaptalk, Jakarta — Apple officially introduced its latest MacBook Air powered with an M3 chip (03/04). This device is claimed to deliver 60% faster performance compared to the model with an M1 chip and up to 13x faster than the Intel-based one.
“MacBook Air is our most popular and loved Mac, with more customers choosing it over any other laptop. And today it gets even better with the M3 chip and new capabilities,” said Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Greg Joswiak on the company’s official blog (03/04).
The new device can be used by all segments who want a superior combination of performance, portability, and battery life, from students to business users, according to Joswiak. This MacBook Air has a fanless design with a thin and light body. The model has two screen sizes, 13-inch and 15-inch, with a battery life of up to 18 hours. Wrapped in aluminum unibody, this MacBook Air is available in four colors, namely midnight, starlight, space gray, and silver.
In more detail, this device is equipped with several AI features, spanning checking homework with AI math Assistance in Goodnotes 6, automatically enhancing photos in Pixelmator Pro, and removing background noise from a video using CapCut. MacBook Air can also run AI models, including large language models (LLMs) and diffusion models for image generation locally. This laptop also supports cloud-based applications, enabling users to run powerful productivity and creative apps that leverage AI, such as Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365, Canva, and Adobe Firefly.
Further, this new release can be purchased at Apple‘s online official store and Apple Store app on March, 4, while at Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers on March, 8. The 13-inch with M3 is priced at $1,099 (US) and $999 (US) for education. The 15‑inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at $1,299 (US) and $1,199 (US) for education.
