Heaptalk, Jakarta — For a long time ago, women have been underrepresented in the economic sector, while men have controlled it all across the world, including in Indonesia. Women were frequently treated unfairly in various areas in this conservative society, sometimes underpaid, threatened as an object complement, and there were times when we hardly saw women in business or in any leadership roles, seen as not too important, especially for holding strategic positions in a company.
However, the time running has altered this situation. As the fastest-growing segment of business worldwide, women entrepreneurs are a popular issue these days. They can be found in a various field, from technology to fashion to arts and self-employee as well.
In spite of improvements, gender discrimination and a lack of female representation in business are still widespread problems. A dearth of female role models for younger generations could be contributing to this phenomenon. As a result, empowering female entrepreneurs has never been more important.
According to Diah Yusuf, Director ICSB Womenpreneurs Indonesia Secretary General , women have a lot of potential in the corporate sector and can have a significant impact. Thus, ICSB initiates a Womenpreneurship Development Program: Be ready to change and become dependable womenpreneurs in Indonesia (see the link 1000womenpreuners.id). It is hoped that Indonesia would be able to unleash the full potential of women, both for their business maturity personally and for the society and nation at large.
Several insights were highlighted during the inaugural webinar event, which was streamed on (18/10), to encourage women in the case of unlocking their potential to be a great entrepreneur:
‘Be brave! Don’t worry if you start from the smallest one’ – Kim James
“Start somewhere. lt’s may feel is not perfect, or not good enough get started anyway, it rates as you go and remember majors in the majors,” Kim James.
The quote trying to deliver things that the lengthy voyage does not always go as planned. Things that are gravel in the natural world can be really irritating at times. But don’t lose sight of the fact that your part of something far greater. Also, include that in the most critical aspects.
This is due to the fact that women are an unique human nature, and so, whatever they do deserves appreciation. To say something about writings, paintings, food, or anything else implies that it has value. However, majors in majors means women have the right to think broadly, for example in business when it comes to drawing up a prospective huge deal that they have, as well as what the influence of their presence will be on other clients or networks. the positive impact that she can influence.
As Kim share her experienced, where she opted to leave his comfort zone, from the banking sector, into a something new in her life, the drone or aerial industry. This industry, she explained, is vastly different from the banking sector in that it is much more organized. However, this new industry holds great interest for her due to the many lessons it can teach, as well as the positive impact it has on the environment and the way it inspires people, particularly women.
Women are good in buying, means good in selling – Prachii Sorte Jagtap
There is no denying the fact that women are figures who are quite good at purchasing goods. The reason behind this is because a woman is frequently dealing with things that is required to fulfil their basic need and can only be obtained through the act of purchasing them. Including the primary needs like food, house appliances and clothing, up to the secondary and tertiary needs.
According to Prachii Sorte, this is the potential asset in which women appear to be ready to become entrepreneurs. Because women can position themselves as users or consumers with sort of experiences, it means that when they are placed in the position of seller, they can figure out what value should be provided to their products or services to satisfy their customer.
Another benefit of women’s sales potential can be seen in the way they market products. As a result of its naturally endowed women, who never fail to extol their own virtues, it demonstrates their originality. In socializing with their neighbors, for example, are likely to be proud of their children because they believe that “my child has this and that skill, my child can achieve this and that, and so on”. It implies that they are capable of discovering what positive worth lies within a given object.
Thus, when they are given an opportunity, guided with the right approach, and facilitated with productive surroundings, this will have a very promising prospect, especially in terms of economic value when seen from a macro perspective.
“Women are powerful beings who can empower their surroundings,” – Elizabeth Krueger
Elizabeth Krueger also emphasized the value of women by outlining women’s potential to be influential figures. Women must be open, have a large network of worldwide friends, and have a global mindset, such as being aware of climate change, the green economy, and other social issues that affect many people’s lives.
This is reflected in Elizabeth’s experience, in which she had to leave a comfortable career path to serve the community against her will. Elizabeth was even in her last position as Project Management Lead at Accenture, which was surrounded by globally talented people, but she decided to leave in 2005 to establish an IT corporation in Pretoria, South Africa (WW.IT-IQ). Her goal is to empower the youth in their country so that they can all reach their full potential and had an equal opportunity in the field of information technology.
Women, in her opinion, play a critical role in building a better society. A mother’s love for her child is what makes women particularly effective at encouraging others, especially young people. He’d seen how the younger generation (the boys) tended to congregate and then fight in brawl, and he didn’t want that to happen again in her country.
He even observed that, at times in South Africa, women appeared to have only a narrow and limited way of life. They married, had children, and became housewives when they were teenagers. The paradigm shift appears to be that women can participate in the advancement of global technology. Even in her most recent project, Chatbots.experts, Elizabeth invited women to contribute, resulting in a more balanced composition in her team.
