Heaptalk, Jakarta — Telkom Indonesia has effectuated the data center business transaction of Telin Singapore devoted to Telkom’s subsidiary focusing on the data center business NeutraDC (Telkom Data Ekosistem) worth US$219 million, equals to Rp3.44 trillion.
“Through NeutraDC Singapore, we offer reliable services and enable customers to thrive in an increasingly complex digital era.” affirmed the CEO of NeuraDC Singapore, Sendang Praptomo.
Following this move, the company has perceived the high demand for data center services, which will grow by 2030, along with the rapid development of technology companies. Moreover, business transformation into the digital realm also increases the broader adoption of cloud computing services, proving the tremendous utilization of data center facilities.
This consolidation process is expected to support TelkomGroup’s strategic plan to develop its digital platform business portfolio and strengthen its digital connectivity business, primarily related to international connectivity.
“This transaction aims to fortify TDE’s data center business, which is expected to lead the data center market in Indonesia and regionally.” Vice President of Investor Relations at Telkom Indonesia, Anetta Hasan, said.
This transaction consolidated the Telkom data center business in Singapore under a similar entity, PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (TDE), as the data center business vehicle. Anetta claimed that TDE owns 100% of NeutraDC Singapore.
As information, this consolidation process has endured multiple stages. On December 7 last year, NeutraDC established a new subsidiary, NeutraDC Singapore Pte Ltd, to improve customer service and innovation at the regional level.
Currently, Telkom possesses around 30 data center facilities consisting of 25 domestic data centers and five overseas data centers. Besides, this company continues to uplift occupancy at Campus 1, expediting the preparation of 2 HDCs in Cikarang and HDC Batam and expanding to other regions through strategic collaboration.
“We appreciate the hard work of both companies in realizing Telkom’s strategy and restructuring our business portfolio. Telin in Singapore, with our major investment arm in the global connectivity market, is poised to achieve exceptional performance and competitiveness.” Chief Executive Officer of Telin, Budi Satria Dharma Purba, said.
Previously, to expedite the connectivity network, Telkom Indonesia, through its subsidiary Telkomsat, launched the Merah Putih 2 satellite from Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States (02/21) using Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket, Falcon 9. The Merah Putih Satellite has a capacity of up to 32 Gbps and carries an active transponder of the C-band and Ku-band frequencies. Telkom claimed that this satellite coverage covers the overall area of Indonesia, with the investment value at US$222 million (around Rp3.5 trillion).
