Heaptalk, Jakarta — Powerbrain, an Indonesia-based energy efficiency developer company, has obtained Pre-Seed funding round with an undisclosed amount led by a non-profit organization, Achmad Zaky Foundation (AZF) (6/28). The company will use this injection to strengthen the Powerbrain technology innovation and expand its market reach in the Smart Energy Management sector.
“We are pleased to get this funding support from Achmad Zaky Foundation to accomplish our objectives to become the leading energy efficiency developer startup in Indonesia. The investment also indicated that Powerbrain’s business model has tremendous potential to decrease carbon emission issues in the archipelago,” said Powerbrain’s Founder and CEO, Irvan Farastha, during the virtual press conference (6/28).
Established in December 2020, Powerbrain aims to present technology-based energy efficiency by bringing a positive impact on the sustainability of business partners, society, and the environment. This GreenTech platform offers four superior services to embody its goals: energy management, renewable energy, asset management, and Electronic Vehicle (EV) charging solutions.
Through these products, the investment disbursed by AZF can accelerate the realization of Sustainable Energy Transition in Indonesia. This startup also intends to support Indonesia’s Government goals to achieve Net Zero emissions (NZE) in 2060 through the energy efficiency technology owned by Powerbrain.

Our investment in this technology startup is expected to help the capital of the Company which potentially grows sustainably. We believe that Indonesia’s startup can become a competitive company by bringing a powerful impact on society,” said the Founder of Achmad Zaky Foundation, Achmad Zaky.
High energy consumption is one of the people’s activities that impacted climate change significantly and contributed to carbon emissions of 90% globally. Also, the Sustainable Energy Transition has become a priority issue in the G20 Presidency of Indonesia 2022, focusing on smart and clean energy technology. For this reason, Powerbrain’s service is expected to provide a solution for controlling energy consumption.
In response to this investment, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Powerbrain, Rilwanu Lukman Amrullah, claimed that Powerbrain has contributed to the user’s electricity consumption efficiency by minimizing their electricity bills to around 20% – 30%. He also believes the Achmad Zaky Foundation’s investment will establish the flexibility for this platform to amplify its partners financially, as well as save and preserve a sustainable environment.
