Heaptalk, Jakarta — Bitsmedia, the startup developing Muslim lifestyle application (Muslim Pro), has landed US$20 million in a Series A funding round. Asia-focused venture capital firm Gobi Partners led this round, with other participation from existing investors, including CMIA Capital Partners and Bintang Capital.

The company will utilize the latest injection to advance Artificial Intelligence technology, enrich content offerings on Bitsmedia’s streaming platform, Qalbox, develop educational features, and improve the Quran experience within Muslim Pro apps.

“Nurturing Bitsmedia’s enhancement and global footprint while serving the needs of the global Muslim community remains central to our vision. This investment is a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and expanding our reach into primary international markets, including the US, UK, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries,” Managing Director of Bitsmedia, Nafees Khundker.

Founded in 2009, Bitsmedia aims to enhance inclusivity for Muslims, foster robust global ties through educational content about the Muslim world, and create high-value employment opportunities. Headquartered in Singapore, Bitsmedia is recognized for its flagship product, the Muslim Pro app, which has amassed over 150 million downloads globally.

“Over the years, we’ve identified one significant market opportunity in underserved digital needs within Muslim communities. Our investment in Bitsmedia underscores our commitment to TaqwaTech,” The Managing Partner of Gobi Malaysia, Jamaludin Bujang, said.
