Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Informatics, Budi Arie Setiadi, officially appointed Hokky Situngkir as Director General of Informatics Applications to replace Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, who stepped down in early July. (07/04)
Previously, Semuel declared his official resignation as Senior of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo). His emission decision is a form of moral responsibility, as the Director General is technically responsible for a cyber attack on the National Data Center (PDN) in Surabaya on June 20th, 2024.
In his remarks, Budi mandated the new Director General of Aptics, Hokky, to complete crucial tasks in the field of Application Informatics that must be completed immediately during this government’s term, as well as its continuity for the next government.
“More specifically, I would like to provide several instructions divided into two clusters related to leadership and organizational governance and the priority programs implementation.” Minister Budi affirmed.
Regarding organizational leadership and governance, the Minister mandated Hokky to improve planning quality, budget management accountability, bureaucracy empowerment, and collaboration with the ecosystem. Furthermore, In terms of implementing priority programs, the Minister emphasized several of the most concerned priority programs of the Director General of Application Informatics to be resolved, covering:
- Online gambling eradication,
- PDNS2 and its ecosystem restoration,
- Policy completion in Information Applications, such as the Personal Data Protection (PDP) Law and the Minister of Communication and Information Policy (Permenkominfo) regarding Public PSE, the digital economic ecosystem, and digital literacy development.
“Congratulations on carrying out your duties to realize the great vision of the President of Indonesia, Joko ‘Jokowi,’ towards a Golden Indonesia 2045 through the digital transformation to be more meaningful and sustainable,” Minister Budi concluded.
