Heaptalk, Jakarta — Fauna Land, a distinctive zoo in Ancol, Jakarta, is home to an impressive array of unique animals worldwide. Spanning approximately five hectares of land and water, Fauna Land is designed with a theme inspired by Papua, blending elements from Asia and Australia to create a captivating mix of flora, fauna, and artistic features.
“We have rare animals such as the white lion, cockatoos, macaws, flamingos, Aldabra tortoises, white kangaroos, albino porcupines, miniature horses, mini donkeys, tapirs, and other fascinating species,” Veterinarian Febry Rizky Abdurahman
In addition to observing these rare animals, Fauna Land offers various interactive experiences for visitors, including:
- Animal feeding
Visitors who enjoy close encounters can feed certain animals, including the majestic white lion. The feeding process is entirely safe, as visitors feed the lion through a chute within its glass enclosure.
- Paddle boat rides
Paddle boats are available for visitors to explore the scenic water areas within Fauna Land, offering a peaceful way to appreciate the surrounding nature and landscape.
- Photos with animals
Visitors can capture memorable moments by taking photos with animals, such as cockatoos, parrots, tortoises, and more.
Fauna Land’s Marketing representative, Jessica, conveyed that visitors can also enjoy pony rides and the daily Bird Show, which takes place at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The show features trained birds like hombili and raptors, showcasing their intelligence and playfulness to entertain guests.
As for ticket prices, Jessica explained that admission is US$5.03, approximately Rp80,000, on weekdays and US$5.66 (around Rp90,000) on weekends, with discounts available for group bookings.
