Heaptalk, Jakarta — After seizing back its freedom, Azerbaijan has reconstructed Karabakh, and, concurrently, rebuilt Shusha. The city’s name, even, has been appointed as the year name for 2022, which is directly announced by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. As a city that recently gained great popularity worldwide, Shusha has become a host for international agendas.
“The action plan for Shusha year that has been accepted by the cabinet of ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 25th February 2022 has been developed. Our free land is highlighted by the international community, and millions of people intend to visit our land. Today, Shusha has been a well-known city across the world.”
There are particular reasons why Shusha is famous as Azerbaijan’s cultural capital. Shusha represents an incredible Azerbaijan culture that is also part of the world’s cultural heritage. Several renowned artists come from the city, including Mir Mohsun Navvab, Najaf bey Vazirov, Ahmad bey Agaoglu, and Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev. In addition, the city’s stellar artists, such as Hamida Khanum Javanshir, Uzeyir Hajibeyov, Bulbul, Khan Shushinsky, and Niyasi, also strengthen the reason why Shusha deserves the title.
In the country’s view, Shusha is more than just the cradle of the country’s culture, but also a symbol of Karabakh’s freedom, justice, peace, and security. Shusha year has a special meaning for Azerbaijan as it marks the country’s liberation.
Many national and international events have been held, one of which is “Kharibulbul” music festival, which contains historical meaning. A commemoration of Azerbaijan – UN 30th year of diplomatic relations held in the city also affirms the international recognition concerning the solid existence of the country and the city.
A list of international conferences, further, will be organized in Shusha, spanning “Cultural Heritage” conference in Global Baku Forum and “A new look at the South Caucasus: post-conflict development and cooperation” conference that is held by ADA University.
“Today, Shusha has returned to its owner. Shusha has flourished and will be the most beautiful tourist destination in the world. Multiple foreigners, including politicians, researchers, professionals, and journalists, have visited Azerbaijan’s ancient city.
