Azerbaijan, a story to return Lachin

Azerbaijan, a story to return Lachin

By : Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC)

With the strategic diplomatic intelligence, determination, will and military-political leadership of Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan won a glorious Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, and Armenia signed the act of capitulation. According to the tripartite statement dated November 10, 2020, Aghdam, Kalbajar and Lachin were handed over to Azerbaijan without a single shot being fired.

In the so-called capitulation act signed by Armenia, the evacuation and return of Lachin city, Zabukh and Sus villages was determined by the personal will of the head of our state. At the same time, Armenians living in the area where Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily located in Karabakh asked Azerbaijan to give them time until the end of August 2022. Azerbaijan created this chance for Armenians.

Professor Tahira Allahyarova, a member of the Management Board of the Center for Social Research, head of the Internal Policy Analysis Department, said these thoughts in her statement to AZERTAC .

The professor noted that no matter how big a disaster wars are, military operations are conducted within the framework of the rules established in international law, and there are limits to cruelty. At the same time, the people of Azerbaijan, who faced Armenian occupation and terrorism in the last thirty years, were subjected to ethnic cleansing, boundless cruelty, and merciless crimes. Even today, the country witnesses the traces of those crimes.

Armenia’s obligation to completely evacuate Lachin city, Zabukh and Sus villages will be completed by the end of August. As before in December 2020, Armenians started to burn, destroy and destroy everything that they could not take in the territory of Zabukh and Sus they left. In the local and international media, the burning of houses, burning of forests, planting of landmines, acts of vandalism against cultural monuments, crimes against nature called ecocide and urbicide have again become constant news headlines. Thus, by committing crimes against humanity, grossly violating international conventions, Armenia continues to demonstrate that it is a state that poses a serious threat to regional and global security.

The member of the Board of Directors said that against the background of all this, the Armenian state’s groundless clamor about the ethnic cleansing of the Armenian population and the campaign to attract the attention of the international community has started. However, Nikol Pashinyan also stated that after the construction of an alternative road to the Lachin corridor, settlements located outside the territory of the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region, including the villages of Lachin and Zabukh, where Armenians currently live, will be handed over to Azerbaijan.

The terrorism and vandalism carried out by Armenia in Karabakh in the last 30 years have formed a complete complex of political, legal, economic, environmental, property, human rights, cultural genocide, destruction of cities and crimes committed against nature. Thus, the number of historical and religious monuments found in the lands of Azerbaijan is 403. 67 of them are mosques, 144 are temples, and 192 are shrines. 63 of the 67 Muslim mosques that officially functioned in the territories of the former Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding regions were completely destroyed, and 4 were partially destroyed and rendered useless. Armenia also committed the Khojaly massacre of our compatriots whom they subjected to ethnic cleansing in Karabakh. He committed the most serious crime of genocide against humanity at the level of state policy. For 30 years, refugees and internally displaced persons have been completely deprived of their property rights. Cennatmekan committed the worst crimes against nature with the “scorched earth” policy in Karabakh. He illegally exploited our natural resources and destroyed the geographical landscape and land cadastre. Also, by erasing entire cities in Karabakh, he grossly violated international conventions. In addition, he committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, such as illegal settlements in the occupied territories.

“Against the background of the implementation of the act of capitulation, the state of Azerbaijan is implementing the largest global humanitarian project of the 21st century, the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to independent Karabakh after 30 years. Today, the heavy burden of these crimes committed by Armenia, which continues its terrorist state policy in Lachin and Zabukh, will not be easy to bear. This country will be asked to account for thirty years of occupation policy.

Not only the just punishment established by international law, but also other consequences of the occupation policy are haunting Armenia. Thus, not only the international reputation of Armenia has collapsed, but also the processes of its decline in the Armenian diaspora have begun. Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, etc. the Armenian population of the countries is aware that the diaspora of the invading and criminal Armenia is just a toy in the hands of the military-political leadership. At the request of our state, the businessmen investing in the now abandoned settlement in Zabukh realize not only that their finances are in the air, but also that they are being forced to commit international and crimes against humanity by the Armenian state,” said Tahira Allahyarova.

He added that the day when Andranik Chavushyan, who praised the perpetrators of terrorism and vandalism in Zabukh, will be brought before the international tribunal is not far away. By writing the history of victory, our state will ensure that all the complex of crimes committed not only in the last two years, but also today, in parallel, in the last 30 years, will be transferred to international legal bodies without any exception. The details of the damage inflicted on Azerbaijan are calculated. Thus, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan has already initiated relevant criminal cases. The next stage is the stage of demanding the compensation caused to Azerbaijan as a result of the terrorist and vandalism state policy of Armenia in international courts and tribunals.

Lachin’s turn of strategic diplomatic intelligence is the last wake-up call to the terrorist policy of the Armenian state. It is also a last warning that Armenians will not dare to pursue this policy in free Karabakh again. The turning point of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity is a clear proof that regional and global, national and human peace is the basic condition of security. On the contrary, today Armenia, which refuses the peace agreement and sabotages all initiatives, remains a state that threatens security in the region. Another Zabukh lesson of our victory – the alternative Lachin road is a symbol of confidence that the future of Armenians who are citizens of Azerbaijan will be a path of exceptional prosperity and peace.
