Heaptalk, Jakarta – After successfully hooking a large crowd in INACRAFT Reborn last March, the Association of Exporters and Producers of Indonesian Handicraft (ASEPHI) announced to organize the second wave of the Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT) 2022 in October 2022.
“INACRAFT is routinely held one time per year, but this year will be different. The event will be organized twice a year, both this year and in the following years. The decision is taken as we capture entrepreneurs’ enthusiasm to join the event.” stated the Chairman of ASEPHI Muchsin Ridjan, during the ASEPHI’s national meeting(16/06).
Muchsin uttered that entrepreneurs’ interest in joining the event remains high and always exceeds the quota. Before the pandemic, the association recorded that about 1,600 to 1,700 businesses were interested in participating in the exhibition, even though the available space is only about 1,500. Providing a space for the national business and promoting Indonesia’s economic recovery, the association decided to organize the event two times per year.
Regarding the event’s implementation, Vice-Chairman II in the field of Creative Industry, IT, and Promotion Muchamad Ali Jufry stated that the following INACRAFT would be held from 26 to 30 October 2022 in Jakarta Convention Centre. Selecting South Sulawesi as the icon, the event will offer fresh concepts with new strategies.
Jufry uttered that the number of exhibitors in the next INACRAFT 2022 would ramp up from 700 participants last March to over 1,000 participants in October. This action is performed as the current situation is perceived to be more conducive during the post-pandemic. Jufry conveyed that the participants’ list will be enlivened by newcomers, namely millennials and gen Z.
“Despite ASEPHI’s members, the handicraft exhibition also will provide a space for the young generation to showcase their innovative products. We saw that Indonesia’s young generation demonstrated significant transformation perceiving from its power to build new trends in various business sectors such as skin care, cosmetics, etc. To engage the generation, INACRAFT will provide a special space with competitive prices thus they can join and offer their product at reasonable prices.”
Align with INACRAFT reborn, the following INACRAFT will adopt a hybrid concept where people can shop both in-person and online. For holding the online event, Jufry stated that ASEPHI has cooperated with Silversea Media to present a virtual exhibition. The technology adopted on INACRAFT’s official website will deliver an immersive performance of booths and products. In addition, the fair has selected India as the Country of Honor, thus the country will be granted a special place to exhibit its culture, products, food, beverage, etc.
