Involving seven brands in the international event on February 13th, 2022, JMFW Goes to NYFW is the proper momentum to enrich business networking globally.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade continues to encourage the fashion industry in Indonesia to penetrate the market globally, one of which involves Indonesia’s fashion brands performing in the New York Fashion Week (NYFW), scheduled on February 13th, 2023. As the further achievement of the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2022 event, the participation of Indonesia’s brands in the NYFW is expected to uplift the export value and broaden the business network in the US.
Recognizing the potential of the fashion sector in the country, Indonesia’s Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas), delivered the support of seven well-known brands of modest fashion in Indonesia to showcase their fantastic fashion products at the NYFW event. The seven fashion brands cover Buttonscarves, KAMI, AM by Anggitasari, Ayu Dyah Andari x BT Batik Trusmi, Zeta Prive, Lenny Hartono, and Nada Puspita, which have also exhibited its product in the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week 2022.
“We will support as much as possible to back young Indonesian designers in expanding their fashion products worldwide. Besides the NYFW being the most outstanding event worldwide, the United States also became the primary export country for Indonesia, with a value worth US$8.5 million in 2021 and climbed of 16.8%, attaining US$8.8 million in the January – November 2022,” affirmed Zulhas, during the JMFW Goes to NYFW media briefing (01/31).
As noted by the Global Islamic Economic 2020/2021 report, purchasing power of modest fashion products globally is expected to increase by 2.4% in five years. This sector is projected to attain US$311 billion in value by 2024. As the most significant Muslim population worldwide, Minister Zulhas affirmed the archipelago owns the enormous potential to be a modest fashion trendsetter worldwide.
Through the participation of Indonesia’s fashion brands in this international fashion event, Minister Zulhas also notices numerous advantages for Indonesia’s fashion practitioners, including increasing the strategic networking with global fashion stakeholders and discovering the latest fashion trends worldwide to upgrade their fashion product innovations.
