Heaptalk, Jakarta — InterSystems, a cloud-based data platform technology provider, is developing integrated data technology and Generative AI (GenAI) applications for healthcare institutions in Indonesia to improve patient-centered care quality.
“Our commitment to patient-centered care involves technology and transforming healthcare delivery. By placing the patient at the center of care, we can significantly improve health outcomes and patient satisfaction,” stated Luciano Brustia, Regional Managing Director, Asia Pacific, InterSystems.
Several technologies have been developed, including data platforms, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). The company is exploring applying new GenAI technologies into the TrakCare system to empower healthcare professionals and enhance patient care. “Integrating GenAI into our platform is revolutionizing how healthcare professionals interact with patient data, enabling more timely and informed decision-making that ultimately improves patient care.”
Enhancing hospital management and operations
Several healthcare institutions in Indonesia have adopted the TrakCare EMR system and the IRIS for Health data platform developed by InterSystems. The TrakCare EMR system consolidates data from across departments, allowing authorized providers to instantly access patient information, reduce waiting times, and facilitate smooth transitions during hospital visits. For instance, healthcare providers are notified when lab results are ready, enabling efficient complex care coordination.
TrakCare and TrakCare Lab Enterprise (TCLE) have been successfully implemented in many leading hospitals and private laboratories in Indonesia, such as EMC Healthcare, Eka Hospital, Bali International Hospital, Tzu Chi Hospital, Prodia, and Rumah Sakit Pondok Indah Group.
In addition, many hospitals in Indonesia have used the IRIS for Health data platform to build a comprehensive patient data repository. By applying the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard, hospitals can perform real-time data analysis and insights to enhance hospital management and operations.
Founded in 1978, InterSystems manages over 1 billion health records worldwide, with 100% of hospitals listed in the U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll using its products. The company’s data technology supports leading electronic medical record systems, including Epic and TrakCare, and over 500 hospitals globally run InterSystems TrakCare integrated health information systems. Additionally, more than 20 Southeast Asian partners provide integration services based on InterSystems’ data platform.
