Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has officially showcased its newest MPV product, Hyundai STARGAZER, at GIIAS 2022. The latest product line-up is a benchmark around Multi-Purpose Vehicle classes with its advanced Hyundai Bluelink and Smartsense technology embedded in this car.
Responding to this latest product on the launch occasion, the President Director of Hyundai Indonesia stated, “STARGAZER has been designed to align with characteristics, people requisites, and the road conditions in Indonesia. The establishment of this MPV product has marked our response to Indonesian society’s requisites to take a long trip with their family. On the same occasion, HMIID’s Chief Operating Officer, Makmur, also revealed his appreciation for presenting Hyundai STARGAZER to Indonesian. In addition to providing a vast cabin, Makmur also explained this new MPV line-up is equipped with innovative technology and the latest security features to fulfill the users’ daily mobility and long trip activities.
A robust and impressive exterior appearance
Hyundai STARGAZER adopts a vehicle typology concept, Sleek One Box, to show a dynamic, expressive, and futuristic appearance. The Horizontal DRL technology also reinforces this identity, embedded in the front car position. The DRL installation marks the initial launch of this MPV product in Indonesia, a country located on the equator.
On the rear car position, Hyundai amplifies the STARGAZER identity with the iconic Distinctive H Rear Lamp. This h-shaped taillight allows this car to be easily recognized from a far distance, representing its good balance and harmonization. This unique design shows Hyundai’s innovation in connecting technology and emotional values.
In the form of vehicle dimension, this line-up is estimated to become a powerful MPV to accompany consumers on every Indonesia family long trip. STARGAZER is created with an extended size of 4,460mm, wide of 1,789mm, height of 1,695mm, wheelbase width of 2,790mm, front side overhang distance of 800mm, and behind of 880mm. Further, the ground clearance distance of this new Hyundai car model is set up at 195mm, making this vehicle more advanced with the uneven track.
An expansive interior with a simple storage space
A Multifunctional Storage Space has become STARGAZER’s primary concept to exhibit its impressive interior. Through this model implementation, the new STARGAZER product continues to maximize the storage space available with the glove box, console tray, and cup holder on the door side.
The One Curve Design on the vehicle creates an arch in the vehicle ceiling, generating a headroom from the first line to the third line roomier. In addition, an Ambient Mood Lighting also marks this new car’s appearance as more luxurious.
A responsive and efficient performance
Hyundai STARGAZER offers driving modes, starting from Eco, Comfort, Smart, and Sport. This car is also embedded with a remort Start Engine to simplify users’ turning on the car machine. For the performance side, this model possesses a Smartstream G1.5 MPI inline 4 Cylinder DOHC to produce its maximum power up to 115 ps / 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 143.8 Nm / 4,500 rpm.
Moreover, adding Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) can maximize the speed more efficiently and save fuel usage. This system also grants seamless car moves and is more responsive than the standard automatic transmission.
Hyundai’s Smartsense and security feature
As a part of Hyundai Motor Company of the modern technology, this automotive brand furnishes the STARGAZER with a more secure driving feature, one of which is Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC). This security feature can prevent the vehicle from suddenly retreating when the engine is on with the position stopped on an uphill road. Another protection feature in this car is the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), designed to detect collision potential and automatically execute braking mode.
The Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) technology is also presented to discover the roadside when driving at high speed. This feature will warn the driver to stay on the right track. Also, the Lane Following Assist (LFA) security feature can direct the steering wheel and control the STARGAZER to stay on track.
Hyundai Motor Indonesia also provides additional safety features, namely Blind-spot Collison-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross Traffic Collison Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Rear View Monitor (RVM), Safe Exit Warning (SEW), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and High Beam Assist (HBA).
Hyundai Bluelink innovation
This technology is Hyundai’s Connected Car Service innovation, allowing users to always link with this car through their smartphone. Hyundai Bluelink delivers complete access to the crucial features dedicated to STARGAZER owners to be aware of their current vehicle conditions, turn on and off machines, set the temperature, lock and unlock the door, activate the klaxon, and find the car location.
The Bluelink feature provides diverse buttons to increase a safe driving experience for users: SOS / Emergency Assistance, Roadside Assistance (RSA), Remote Engine Start/Stop, Climate Control, Remote Door Lock / Unlock, Remote Horn, Light Control, and Find My Car.

Hyundai Indonesia presents this newest STARGAZER with several colors: Midnight Black Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Magnetic Silver Metalic, Titan Gray Metalic, Optic White Solid, Dragon, Red Pearl, and Mangrove Brown Pearl. The newest of MPV Hyundai’s line-up also launched with four STARGAZER types with diverse prices: STARGAZER Active MT at $16,478, Active IVT is valued at $17,331, STARGAZER Trend MT is priced at $17,832, Trend IVT at $18,686, STARGAZER Style at $20,067, and STARGAZER Prime worth $20,799 on the round Jakarta.
