Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) has updated the list of officially recognized and tradable crypto assets in Indonesia, adding 851 new legal cryptocurrencies.
“Based on the decision letter from the Head of Bappebti on January 9, 2025, regarding the Determination of Crypto Assets Traded on the Physical Market of Crypto Assets in Indonesia, a total of 851 crypto assets are now officially registered in Indonesia. This number significantly increased compared to 2024, where only 501 crypto assets were legal in Indonesia.
In more detail, the latest crypto assets listed include significant names such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, USDT, and Pepe. Popular altcoins such as Chainlink, Tron, Toncoin, Cardano, and Avalanche are also included. Some memes, including Dogecoin, Floki, Catizen, and Popcat, have made the latest list as well.
Interestingly, several tokens endorsed by local celebrities and controversial coins, such as Asix, Icon, VCGamers, and Kuy Token, have now achieved legal status. Coins that are suspected of having connections to online gambling activities, such as Bitxdo, BotXCoin, and Bag.win, also exist.
Furthermore, Bappebti emphasizes that this adjustment meets market needs while providing legal certainty and protection for the public transacting crypto assets through local exchange platforms.
