Heaptalk, Jakarta — Embarking 2025, Erajaya Active Lifestyle (Eral), a retail and distribution company of electronic devices, is poised to distribute Xpeng electric vehicles in Indonesia. This business measure comes on heels of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing with Xpeng which allow the company to act as the country’s exclusive licensee agent of Xpeng electric vehicles.
“We are proud to collaborate with Xpeng, one of the leading EV players in the world, to drive the development of the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia,” said Djohan Sutanto, CEO of Erajaya Active Lifestyle, as cited in CNN Indonesia (12/31).
On the other hand, Alex Tang, Head of the International Division of Sales and Service at Xpeng, stated, “Our partnership with Eral is an important step in Xpeng’s global expansion.”
The marketed EVs will follow a completely knocked down (CKD) scheme, meaning the manufacturer will assemble the electric vehicles before shipping them to Indonesia. In 2025, Xpeng will launch two debut models in Indonesia: the medium SUV G6 and the premium 7-seater MPV X9.
The Xpeng G6 offers 800-volt supercharging and a more extended driving range. Its acceleration capability from 0 to 100 km/h is around 4.1 seconds, and its maximum range is 550 km. This SUV is priced at US$24,860 in China, or around Rp403 million (US$1 equals Rp16,215).
Meanwhile, the Xpeng X9 7-seater is equipped with ADAS XNGP and the latest smart car operating system generation, XOS Tianji. ADAS XNGP can start the car remotely and move it up to automatic parking without driver assistance.
The X9 MPV is equipped with 800 V supercharging capability. According to CLTC, this car can cover a maximum range of 702 km per charge. Its drive system produces 370 kW of power and 640 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h. The Xpeng X9 is priced at US$29,610 in China, or around Rp481 million during a presales period in October 2024.
