Heaptalk, Jakarta — In May 2024, the West Papua Provincial Government controlled inflation to 4.86%. According to Lasarus Ullo, the Head of the West Papua Food Security Office, this achievement is attributed to intensified food movement efforts.
“This year, the affordable food movement was conducted ten times,” explained Lasarus.
Furthermore, Lasarus delivered that for the Affordable Food Movement (GMP), the Food Security Office received around US$122.122, approximately Rp2 billion allocated for affordable food and Diverse, Nutritious, Balanced, and Safe Food (B2SA).
Lasarus also appreciated Bank Indonesia for assisting the West Papua Provincial Government in organizing GMP twice. “These events were held at the Bank Indonesia office and the courtyard of Saint Augustine Church,” he said. In conclusion, Lasarus looks forward to the region’s inflation rate continuing to decline in the following months.
