Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s President, Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, launched the Digitalization of Event Licensing Services at the Tribrata, Jakarta (06/24), which is expected to facilitate the licensing process for event organizers.
“This significant move not only provides certainty but also cuts through our bureaucracy, demonstrating a commitment to a lower and more transparent cost,” said the President.
Despite digitalization, President Jokowi emphasized the significance of event planning management by both organizers and the government. According to the President, licensing applications should be submitted as soon as possible.
“I strongly urge event organizers to take control of their planning and management by applying earlier, six months or even a year before the event. This will ensure good planning and management for the event,” he continued, empowering the event organizers.
With such planning, the Head of State believed that organizers could promote their events more broadly. Furthermore, some licensing processes take time.
“The government, as conveyed by the Chief of Police, can accomplish several licensing processes within 14 days only, allowing organizers to promote their events and sell tickets effectively,” he added.
On this occasion, the President also stated that hosting events on a national or international scale can positively impact a country. He cited Brazil as an example, which was able to boost its economic growth by hosting the World Cup in 2022.
“The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is a prime example of how hosting events can boost economic growth. Qatar’s investment of US$220 billion for the event led to a significant increase in economic growth. I am optimistic that our country can generate similar outcomes. For this reason, I urge that upcoming events can positively impact our country,” President Jokowi concluded, instilling optimism in the audience about the country’s future.
