Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Tangerang Regency Government held an event to present the Archival Awards for internal supervision on Tuesday (10/22) at the Puspemkab Tangerang Multipurpose Hall. On the occasion, the government also signed the Archival Awareness Movement for Tangerang Regency 2024.
Andi Ony, Acting Regent of Tangerang, stated that this event was organized to strengthen the commitment of regional apparatuses to carry out disciplined and organized archival management and raise greater awareness of its importance. “Archival discipline is the key to supporting clean, effective, and transparent governance. We must implement the National Archival Awareness Movement even more effectively,” said Andi Ony.
This event aligns with the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation No. 7 of 2017, under which Tangerang Regency launched the National Archival Awareness Movement in March 2020. The movement aims to create accountable governance through proper archival management. Andi added, “In 2024, we are renewing our commitment by signing the Archival Awareness Movement for Tangerang Regency.”
He also appreciated the regional apparatuses that received awards for successfully managing archives according to the established archival standards and principles. “Congratulations to the regional apparatuses that received the awards. May this serve as motivation to continue improving the quality of archival management in each respective workplace,” he said.
At the event, Nurul Hayati, the Head of the Tangerang Regency Library and Archives Office, explained that her office had conducted internal archival supervision across 34 regional apparatuses supporting the Archival Awareness Movement. “This supervision aims to enhance understanding and capabilities in archival management and to ensure that every regional apparatus manages its archives properly,” said Nurul.
From May to June 2024, the supervision involved 34 regional apparatuses, including bodies, departments, and hospitals in the Tangerang Regency. The results of this supervision were formalized through the Tangerang Regent’s Decree No. 000.5.15.1/Kep.877-Huk/2024.
Nurul hopes the awards will motivate each regional apparatus to implement more disciplined archival management following applicable standards. “Properly managed archives will contribute to more efficient and transparent public services,” she concluded.
