Heaptalk, Jakarta — To prepare for the Eid Homecoming 2025, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) will maintain the stability of transportation ticket prices in coordination with state-owned enterprises in the land, rail, and sea transport sectors.
Minister of SOE Erick Thohir confirmed that ticket prices for the Eid homecoming would not increase. This was agreed upon in a meeting with the CEOs and Directors of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni), PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), Perum Damri, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, and PT Jasa Marga.
“We ensure there will be no increase in ticket prices to support national economic growth and reduce the costs needed by the public during homecoming. Whether there will be discounts later on will depend on the higher authority following the regulations from the Ministry of Transportation or others,” said Erick during a press conference at the SOE Ministry, Jakarta (01/22).
Enhancing passenger comfort & safety
Besides transportation ticket prices, another topic discussed in the meeting was the enhancement of passenger comfort and safety. Efforts have been made by KAI, which has reduced the number of economy-class passengers from 100 seats per carriage to 72 seats, or a difference of 22 seats from business class carriages, which have a capacity of 50 seats per carriage.
Pelni also provides complete ship safety infrastructure, such as life jackets and monitoring systems now supported by Telkomsel technology to maintain connectivity in maritime areas. Erick also encouraged ASDP and Pelindo to optimize port facilities and synergize with relevant agencies to facilitate the flow of crossings during the Eid homecoming period.
The SOE Ministry and state-owned enterprises are also collaborating with the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the readiness of transportation modes during homecoming. With these strategic steps, Erick hopes that the Eid Homecoming 2025 will run smoothly and safely and provide the best experience for the public. “We have also discussed various anticipatory measures with the Minister of Transportation yesterday. All efforts are made to ensure the public feels safe and comfortable during homecoming,” he concluded.
