Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) has announced that civil servants will start moving to the new capital, Nusantara (IKN), after the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2025. Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini stated that preparations of the relocation of civil servants have faced new challenges following the increase in the number of ministries.
“During the administration of the 7th President, Joko Widodo, the PANRB Ministry had prepared a relocation scheme for 34 ministries. However, under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, the number of ministries increased to 48. This has made the relocation preparations more challenging, as the PANRB Ministry needs to first ensure the readiness of government agencies. Currently, the process of organizing staff and restructuring ministries and institutions is ongoing,” Rini explained at the Bidakara Hotel on Wednesday (12/11).
Therefore, according to her, the process of relocating civil servants can only begin after the internal organization and governance of ministries and institutions are completed. Once the staffing and internal matters are settled, preparations for the relocation scheme to the IKN can proceed. “Hence, we are waiting for them to settle internally first,” Rini said.
Furthermore, she emphasized that her ministry is ready to implement all directives from President Prabowo Subianto. The relocation of civil servants to the IKN will depend on the readiness of the necessary infrastructure. “We will proceed according to the readiness of the required infrastructure. We know what the move of these 48 ministries will be like. PANRB Ministry will immediately consolidate with the Nusantara Capital Authority,” she concluded.
