Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is set to host its flagship business event, Think Business, Think Hong Kong (TBTHK), in Jakarta in January 2025.
Taking place at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta, the event aims to promote Hong Kong as a reliable hub for business and investment, with a particular focus on connecting Indonesian entrepreneurs to business opportunities across East Asia, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) and other Asian markets.
“TBTHK is designed to showcase Hong Kong’s role as a gateway for regional and international businesses, helping participants seize opportunities in key sectors,” said Ronald Ho, HKTDC’s Director for Southeast and South Asia, during a press conference in Jakarta on Friday, December 13.
Additionally, last year, the Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive led a delegation organized by the HKTDC to three ASEAN countries, including Jakarta, which resulted in the signing of 15 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The upcoming event will cover diverse themes, including finance, smart cities, transportation, sustainability, technology, and other business sectors. In addition to the main forum, TBTHK will feature a gala dinner attended by more than 20 representatives from businesses and government institutions.
M. Aaron Sampetoding, Head of Investment and International Affairs at the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), expressed enthusiasm about the event. “This initiative holds great potential for fostering collaboration between Hong Kong and Indonesian entrepreneurs. HIPMI also hopes the event will serve as a bridge for young entrepreneurs to expand their business horizons,” he remarked.
