Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) Meutya Hafid encourages micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to utilize artificial intelligence technology to develop their businesses.
According to the Minister, AI has great potential to help MSMEs advance simply and practically. “In the MSME sector, artificial intelligence is needed to advance. Its name might sound difficult, but it is easy to use. This is what we are promoting,” said Meutya in Yogyakarta.
Meutya Hafid explained that AI technology can be used for the diverse needs of MSMEs, such as creating logos, texts, and images tailored to user requirements. Additionally, AI can support the promotion of local products to reach global communities. She said, “Earlier, I saw MSMEs here are culture-based, from herbal medicine to t-shirts with wayang character designs. We can further develop this with AI technology.”
AI supports the economic sector and preserves culture. She hopes that AI can become a tool for teachers to enhance the teaching and learning process with appropriate assistance. “I see the spirit in Kampoeng Cyber is culture-based, not only for economic or technological purposes but also to preserve the values of mutual cooperation that form the foundation of this ecosystem,” she explained.
During the visit, Meutya highlighted the importance of collaboration between modern technology and local culture. Kampoeng Cyber in Yogyakarta, which integrates cultural elements with digital innovation, is a successful example of technology-based cooperation. She added, “Kampoeng Cyber proves that culture is the main foundation in building a solid digital community.”
Komdigi also reaffirmed its commitment to assisting MSMEs to ensure they can fully utilize AI technology. This is expected to enhance competitiveness and expand the market for local products.
